A lovely read - a real glimpse into a vast tract of theatrical history.

As a contrast a fascinating window into a lost period of television history.

What did you think of the Lost City of Z. I read it when i went over and spent some time in China. An interesting read right? Kind of spooky how those guys would enter the Amazon, and sometimes just disappear. I liked the book a lot.

I really liked it. I thought the reveal of the treasure was very interesting and probably true.

I am glad you enjoyed it man. Man the bit where Fawcett hooked up with that dude who explored the Arctic, was my favorite part. I was so able to see what was going on in my mind.

Makes me want to reread the book.

I like zombie books so you have to consider that. Anyway I liked Feed more than I thought I would. I only really read it because I want to vote on the Hugos and the second book is nominated. I thought the blogger thing would be much more annoying that it was in reality. The second book, Deadline, I thought was very enjoyable, even though it had middle of series syndrome (left things kind of unfinished). In fact, I probably enjoyed it most of the Hugo books for this year I've read so far (still got George RR Martin and Embassytown to read though). The third book was ok, but got a little overly goofy in places.

I read Matheson's I Am Legend last month and really enjoyed it. A friend recommended this one. Not very scary so far, but I'm still in the set up part of the novel.

I listened to this recently when the radio version was repeated. Very enjoyable.

I'm currently reading "The Naming of the Beasts", Mike Carey's fifth Felix Castor novel, a mostly London-centric noir urban fantasy, having read volumes 2-4 during a recent holiday.

Although I think Jim Butcher still has the overall edge, IMNSHO this is mostly because, as well as being a lot further along with his series, Butcher paints on a larger tapestry - incorporating all manner of magical elements - as compared to Carey's primary focus on the dead. Definitely worth it, though, if you're accepting of the potential "limitations" of an exorcist protagonist and enjoy a back story that unfolds with each new volume. (Carey looks to have written these so that you can jump in at any stage by recapping important elements of which you'd otherwise be unaware).

I just finished What Dreams May Come by Matheson. I like the movie and I liked I Am Legend, so I was excited. The book wasn't very good, unfortunately. A lot of it reads like a lecture in New Age metaphysical belief.

Nice. Thanks for the reply. Under her actual name, she has two series that I read. October Daye (5 books currently) and the book Discount Armageddon which starts a second series. I think once I finish book 4 of Game of Thrones series and book 5, I'll move on to the Feed series.
