Loved it, got me motivated to train.

I liked the book overall but felt the author used "big words" for the heck of it. I think I have a decent vocabulary and I had to keep double clicking the dictionary. "Lallation errors," "epistolary," "distaff," etc. In a book about Mario. I thought it was unnecessary and it detracted from the story.

Re: What are you reading? (January 2012)

Just finished Freedom by Daniel Suarez. It and Daemon are two of the best books I have read in a while. Suarez has really impressed me with his ability to craft a good and compelling story. I will probably buy anything the man puts out at this point.

Now I am stuck for what to read next. Debating between Empire State (recommended earlier) and the first book in the Butlerian Jihad (set in the Dune universe but by Brian Herbert).

Any advice?

Hadn't heard of this. If you've read them how does it compare to The Ultimate History of Video Games (such an awful book title, should have stuck with The First Quarter) and Game Over?
