I thought the base Kindle was the Paperwhite, and got excited about the $59 price, but apparently there is a lower-level Kindle without the built-in light. Oh well, I'll stick with the 1st gen Paperwhite I have.

Search on Amazon for "Year's Best SF" or "Years Best Fantasy" and find a number of older anthologies for $.99 each. Hard to beat a book for a buck.

Yeah, I wondered that too....book 4 seems to be about $4.80 so that is still lower than normal but higher than the "odd" books. Book 2 is full price. I'm not sure what the decision was.

I didn't really want to read the series until it's done in 50 years or so but I couldn't resist that price.
