I don't read much fiction at all, but was given this by a friend and really enjoyed it. I actually know someone else I will recommend it to because I know his interests.

Before this, I had read this:

Interesting viewpoint(s). It got tedious at points, but still found it provocative and gave some things to consider (especially in conjunction with other things I've read).

My rating: :4star:

So I take it you liked it? I was thrilled with Cloud Atlas so I picked this up right away, but its basically been staring at me from the shelf for six months.

I'm keeping with the same theme. Not exactly summer reading but there you go. I finished No Country For Old Men a while back, and am about half way through the first of the border trilogy.

One of my rites of summer is to read a few Travis McGee adventures by John D. MacDonald. For those not familiar with Trav, he was virtually the prototype for most of the first-person PIs of the last 40 years. (Though he's not, strictly speaking, a PI.) I'm currently on my first of the season--The Long Lavender Look. Then I'll write it up in my Travis McGee blog, which I've been chipping away at for several years.
