True Blood Books

Thoughts on the series? How closely do they follow the show? I'm a bit worried it'll be a bit more soft-core-soapy-romance then the show (which I understand is pretty graphic in the violence and "romance" parts.

I was also curious if it was told in first-person narrative. For some reason I have a much harder time getting into books written that way.

Re: True Blood Books

I like them, but yeah, they are all exclusively in 1st person.
At first I liked the show better because of how the plot is fleshed out so much more than the book (seriously, book 1 feels like reading cliff's notes of season 1). But as the series goes on, it really fleshes out an interesting mythology. I had to get beyond the 2nd book before I started to really enjoy it and separate it from the show in my head (have not seen season 3).
