Duane Swierczynski's EXPIRATION DATE

I know this author has a lot of fans here, so I thought I'd point out that his new book, Expiration Date, is available now. Looks like a crazy time-travel caper. Check it out!

Also, check out Duane's blog.

Re: Duane Swierczynski's EXPIRATION DATE

Good article this week with Swierczy and fellow Philly crime writer Dennis Fatoya here.

Haven't read the new book, but plan on picking it up over the weekend.

His books are always entertaining reads, and quick ones as well. They almost read like graphic novels without pictures.

Re: Duane Swierczynski's EXPIRATION DATE

I've loved his books since I first read The Wheelman.

Unfortunately IMO he has yet to live up to that debut book.

That wasn't his debut, was it? I thought the Blonde was.

Either way, I can't wait until it's available on the Kindle app.

Actually, his fiction debut was SECRET DEAD MEN (small press), followed by WHEELMAN.

And I think THE BLONDE is his best book. Crazy stuff, very fun.

The Wheelman is still the only one I think really works, although I haven't read the new one yet. The books are fun, but too comic book-like for my tastes.

I read, and really enjoyed, The Blonde, but it did get really ridiculous.

Re: Duane Swierczynski's EXPIRATION DATE

After reading the dreadful Level 26, which he apparently co-wrote, I was not planning to pick up anything of his, since that book was so horrible. So I guess from this thread, I should give his other stuff a try?

Yeah, Level 26 is like reading a different author, it reads nothing like him. I would try The Wheelman as I think its by far his best. But keep in mind is stories are like hard-boiled crime on crystal meth. They are WAY over the top and utterly ludicrous.

Swierczynski wrote a second one of these that is coming out soon. (I couldn't bring myself to try the first one.)
