I just finished The Ghost by Robert Harris today during my lunch break. It was a fast paced thriller and I think fans of the author will not be disappointed. It has a bitter sweet ending reminiscent of the author’s previous works.
EDIT to add: Managed to pick up a copy of Thomas Perry's Pursuit from my local Borders over the weekend and started on it last night. snapped this one up solely based on the praise some members of this forum heaped on it. About 50 pages in right now and it's pretty good so far. |
Finished:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...hotos/1984.jpg It was good, but not great. Maybe I was supposed to read it in 8th grade. Started: http://www.erikemery.com/images/Theplague.jpg |

It is a nice quick read, I found the Michelangelo parts fascinating and I found it amusing that they had to tear down a 1200 year old building that Emperor Constantine built to make way for the Basilica, which I'm sure caused a massive S#@t storm! All in all I do recommend the book. |

Anyone who enjoyed the Chuck of old - ie Fight Club, Survivor, Invisible Monsters - will enjoy this one immensely.

Tomorrow I'll be reading from a big old book of Petrarch's sonnets. After that, something from Kipling. And through it all I'll be peeking at Leo Strauss's History of Political Philosophy.
