Novels similar to I Am Legend?

I read I Am Legend in one sitting last weekend and really liked it. Matheson's style is really easy to get into and holds one's attention.

Can anyone recommend similar plotlines (horror/suspense/with a little mix of hard sci-fi)?

In other words, what other novels would I enjoy if I enjoyed I Am Legend?

The Stand seems an obvious choice.

"Day of the Triffids" by John Wyndham, very similar but with flesh-eating plants. This and I Am Legend were major inspirations on Romero's Dead films.
