Vampire Series/Books?

Hello All!

I am into this phase right now where it seems like everything I read is about vampires in some shape or form. I am working on Charlaine Harris' series about Sookie Stackhouse and have attempted to read Laurell K Hamilton.

Can anyone recommend a really good series to get into? I've seen the "Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire" series along with "Undead and Unwed" but am not sure how those books are.

All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)

I've been reading the "Dhampir" series from Barb & JC Hendee.

The lead character is a Half Vampire who travels with an Elf assassin.

The Necroscope series from Brian Lumley was really good.

The early Anne Rice books are good but stop after The Queen Of The Damned. Give I Vampire a try if you like it there are a few titles after it but the first one is by far the strongest.

I enjoyed the first few Saint Germain books by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. The first volume is "Hotel Transylvania".

Don't you dare stop after QOTD! :) Continue at least through Memnoch The Devil, possibly the best of them all. After that, continue at your own risk.

To this point Anne's vampire books are the only horror/vampire novels I can read. The others I've attemted to read just come off as silly to me. They seem to translate better visually.
