Recommend a good summer mystery/thriller
I need something that keeps me in the summer frame of mind. Thanks.

You might try one of John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee novels. They always remind me of summer.
(And, if you're a Parrothead, you should know that Jimmy Buffett is a great admirer of MacDonald, and mentions McGee in the song "Incommunicado.") |
For perfect summer type reading, you can't go wrong with Lee Child, James Rollins, Nelson DeMille, Vince Flynn and/or Harlan Coben.

I really enjoyed William Kent Krueger's Cork O'Connor Mysteries

I love anything by Patricia Highsmith. She wrote "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and all that are included in the series. She also wrote "Strangers on a Train." Anyway, all of her work reads quickly and is very engaging.

Joseph Garber's Vertical Run

How about Carl Hiaasen, or maybe some of Elmore Leonard's books set in Florida -- Miaximum Bob, frex. Or a good old fashioned Robert Ludlum novel.
