Cormac McCarthy's The Road

Just finished The Road by McCarthy and was absolutely blown away by it. I dig post-apocalyptic tales as much as the next reader, but what impressed me most was the gorgeous language and the moving relationship between the father and his boy. I'm definitely going to have my own father read this.

Anyone else give it a shot?

It's next up in my to-read pile.

Another great read from McCarthy. Beautiful writing, and a great father and son tale.

i read a review of this in newsweek and it sounded very compelling. i love stories with father/son relationships as well as struggles in/with/against nature. sounded kind of like that russian film 'the return' in a way...guess i'll have to check it out!

Finished this today and I highly recommend it. I revere McCarthy's prose and it shined through in this book. It was a nice follow-up to last year's stellar No Country for Old Men.

I just started getting into Cormac McCarthy this year. My brother recommended his books to me as he is a huge fan of westerns. I hope to read No Country For Old Men soon, and if I like it I'll follow it up with The Road.
