@Lateralus -- Is that the paperback version of Winchester's book? I have the hardcover, which I recently read, and liked it a lot.

Yeah I think so, I could not find a picture of the hardcover. Did you unfold the dust cover to check out the poster on the back? |

I am still at the beginning of a novel called Cocktails for Three from the same author as the Shopaholic series, but this one is in a different vein. I am not liking it as much as I did her other books.
|
Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle
|
Gentle Vengeance by Charles LeBaron

Linky It looks like Brad Pitt's production company bought the rights to World War Z: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816711/ As for The Walking Dead, my former library (haven't checked the new one yet) only had one or two of the trade paperbacks. But I liked what I read. |
Have any of you read nick hornby's articles/book on reading? He has a list of books he buys and then a list of books he actually reads. Could add that to what are you reading threads. Anyway mine:

This is actually very good. I hadn't read Star Trek novels in years until I picked up Ex Machina last year. Now I can't get enough. Anyway, this is a compelling story with character development and depth. |

Linky I could make out with you for bringing this book to my attention. It sounds great! |

Another brilliant epic by Wilbur Smith. How does he write such incredible adventures, filled with intrigue, action, and historical accuracy? He gives the reader so much rich detail, without ever being boring. |
Yet another re-read from way back when:

Robert Heinlein's "Methuselah's Children".

It dates from 1941, although the version I have appears to have been expanded/rewritten in 1958. The article to which I've linked above makes me want to dig out both "Revolt in 2100" and "The Man Who Sold the Moon" which I've not read since my teens.
