A Guide to Obtaining Author Signatures

I tried searching for a thread like this but with no luck, so here's my idea: Let's start a list of places where we can find author's signatures. I found several sites that offer ways to obtain author's signatures and will list them below(along with their most popular books), but would love to find more:

Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist)-Send and email with your address to get a signed bookplate
http://www.paulocoelho.com.br/engl/faq.shtml#ger

George R.R. Martin(A Song of Ice and Fire, A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords)-Personal Inscriptions and autographs
http://www.georgerrmartin.com/books.html

Neil Gaiman(Sandman graphic novels, Good Omens and American Gods)-Signed and personalized books and memorabilia
http://www.neilgaiman.net/news-home.php

Brian Jacques (Redwall series)-Signed, not personalized books-Shipped from the UK
http://www.redwall.org/catalog/

Jerry Jenkins (Left Behind series)-Signed books
http://store.yahoo.com/jerryjenkins/index.html

Ursula K. Le Guin(Earthsea series)-6 personalized Bookplates for a SASE to Portland, Oregon
http://www.ursulakleguin.com/Mail.html#Autographs

Orson Scott Card(Ender's series, Alvin Maker series)-Bookplates for $1 and .30 or so, each, for shipping-The site also has a few bargain books now and then for about $8, signed, a couple of biographies and a poem book (which is 1\2 off right now).

Chuck Palahniuk(Fight Club, Hanuted, Survivor, Choke)-Signed and Personalized books

Get Harlan Coben books signed from a bookstore

Also, Hill House Publishers has some killer (limited and signed) editions by Ray Bradbury, Orson Scott Card, Neal Stephenson and a few others, though they're pricey:

And Easton Press has some amazing books for sale, including a few signed series-though they cost a pretty penny

Most of the sites are the author's official sites and should be reputable. The only problem is that there may be a long wait for author's signatures, particularly Neil Gaiman and Chuck Palahniuk (from a month to several months). I Hope some of this helps, I'll update this as more authors are found.

I always had a question about this, do you send them a letter/email asking to send a book for them to autograph? Or do you just send the book and hope/pray they return it?

Thought I'd give this thread an 8 month anniversary bump...or something.
Let me know if you find any other sites!

Never send books without the permission of the author. That's not only a huge imposition, but you're likely to never get 'em back.

Thats a good site that keeps you up to date when authors are doing in store signings. Hell they are almost always free.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I've added them to the list!
