What Are You Reading? Part 46 (April 06)
#4
On Saturday I started and finished these two

and

Currently reading

Marley and Me is arguably my favorite book ever now. I'm a huge dog lover and the last 120 pages or so had me crying my damn eyes out. I felt like the big man I was doing that. I dare anyone who has had that one special dog in their lives to not weep at during those last 100+ pages. Its impossible.

Gilgamesh - We bought that book and my wife just finished and it had the same effect on her. I'm sure it will me as well... my dogs are my kids.
Anyways currently I'm finishing:

And I plan on starting either:
OR

I'm not quite sure yet. Either way, that'll be the reading material for the remainder of this week.

Finished José Saramago's Seeing last week. Good, but not up to his usual high standards.

Now reading Julia Child's My Life In France, which is expectedly delightful and thoroughly entertaining in every aspect. Some wonderful photos taken by her husband Paul are strewn around in the book, as well.

Currently reading:
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway
I'm also working my way through The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes edited by Leslie Klinger...
...and Fear and Loathing in America by Hunter S. Thompson. I just finished Hunter's letter of April 22, 1975 to Colonel Vo Dan Giang, Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam. In a word: priceless.

Having at long last finished the interminable Otherland books - on which topic I may post in a pre-existing thread - I am now reading Michael Moorcock's "Mother London". It isn't one of his spec-fic/fantasy works.

Going to start Idlewind by Nick Sagan in the next day or two.

Trying to work my way through the backlog of books I bought on clearance at B&N before I tackle Lord of the Rings for the first time.
