I just started:

travlr 03-06-06 09:11 AM

Just finished up Headstone City by Tom Piccirilli.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/05...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
Probably finish Deathbringer by Bryan Smith today as well.
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/08...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
Not sure what's up next.

Cemetery Man 03-06-06 12:32 PM

Almost done with this

<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0786915889.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></div>

Then I have like 10 other books in the series to go. Kicking myself for not reading this stuff sooner.

Just finished Richard Laymon's Travelling Vampire Show
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/08...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Really fun book! I was expecting a horror novel, but it read more like a thriller for me. People who didn't like it always said "It's no Something Wicked This Way Comes" - so now I need to read that down the line.

Still working on Conspiracy Club.

I read The Traveling Vampire Show not too long ago and was somewhat let-down by it. I kept hearing that it was Laymon's best book, but there are several that I enjoyed more. I was expecting a balls-out horror novel as well and perhaps that's why.

M Riesenbeck 03-08-06 08:19 PM

Now reading:

MASH by Richard Hooker

I had always enjoyed the film and show but had never gotten around to reading the book on which they're based. So far it's great--wonderful writing with laugh-out-loud funny scenes.

It's a western, which is not my usual genre. So far it's a breezy read, almost too much so. I've never read any of Parker's Spencer novels.

No idea what's next. Have to hit the library soon.

John-In-VA 03-09-06 12:43 PM

1776 and The Black Dahlia

Michael Corvin 03-09-06 02:04 PM

The DaVinci Code

24: Declassified - Veto Power <-- surprisingly good, much better than I expected
For those that are unaware, the series of novels take place before season 1 of 24. They are early cases/assignments of Jack Bauer's. Therefore Chappelle, Walsh, Tony, & Nina are all present. Each chapter is 1 hour of the day.

grem458 03-09-06 06:05 PM

Finished up The Photograph, now half way through Pavilion of Women.

Very cool - I may have to check this out.

Just about to start Crichton's "State of fear"... If any of you read it, please comment.

I enjoyed it quite a bit (much better than Prey, IMO). It's long, but never bores.

SoupNazi 03-14-06 02:57 PM

I'm also looking forward to Koontz's most recent Odd Thomas novel. The guy has changed his style over the last couple of years and in my modest opinion, it's for the better. Seems like he let's his light side show and it works.

Agreed - Koontz' last few years have been his best, IMO.

I'm reading this too right now (Forever Odd). I should be finished with it by tonight (it's a quick read, but good). Then I might start 1776 or Skeleton Crew by Stephen King.

Just finished A Farewell to Arms and Blue Like Jazz. Both were great! I'm not sure what I'm reading next; probably some more Hemmingway or maybe some Jane Austen

Geofferson 03-15-06 10:13 AM

Read this last month.

Great book!

zekeburger1979 03-15-06 12:21 PM

What do you think about DR? The religous stuff grates at times, but Ive been following alot of the financial steps he lays out and I have to say, its simple but effective.

Treeloot 03-16-06 05:51 PM

I'm in the middle of A Tale of Two Cities. While I've had some very bad experiences with books from the 1800s and early 1900s (Lost Horizon and The Awakening come to mind), A Tale of Two Cities isn't half bad. It's fast paced and the writing style is fairly interesting.
