Amazon.com lists 2 "24" novels. Operation Hell Gate seems to be slightly more preferred by the reviews.

If you can get your hands on "24: The House Special Subcommittee's Findings at CTU," I strongly recommend it. It's transcripts of the hearings held after the first season. Lots of great stuff in there. Some of it got invalidated by season 2, but it's still an entertaining read.

I've read Veto Power and am starting on Operation Hellgate (out of order I know but that is how I bought them). Other then a couple of references, book 2 is independent of book 1.

They capture the feel the show pretty well. Had the whole cliffhanger feel between chapters (1 chapter is 1 hour so there are 24 chapters). Easily pictured the actors in my mind while reading it. They are set before Season 1.

I tried the first one of these and just couldn't get into it. Also you would think as they put more books out they could correct the silly typo on the opening page of the books.
