But darker. A lot darker. I like the way Ketchum writes, but the underlying theme here is descriptive physical abuse and violence against children, so enter at your own risk. |

Scarecrow, what did you think of The Hot Kid ? Great cast of characters, I thought. If you enjoyed the book be sure to check out The New York Times Magazine every Sunday ... Elmore is writing a serial called "Comfort to the Enemy," which also involves Webster and some of the other players in The Hot Kid . The third installment ran this Sunday but previous installments are available online.
Just Finished: Wild Ducks Flying Backward by Tom Robbins Currently Reading: Galatea 2.2 by Richard Powers |

I started October by finishing a reread of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, in preparation for the next book, which was ...
Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. As it turns out, Anansi Boys has almost nothing to do with American Gods, so the reread wasn't strictly necessary. But American Gods is still a great book, so I don't mind the reread. Anansi Boys is a great book, too, by the way -- though a lot closer to Stardust that American Gods in terms of its style and tone. Next up is Susannah Clarke's Joanthan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I read the first ten pages on the train this morning and wanted to just stay on the train reading all day long. |
I'm reading Goblet of Fire and Chronicles by Bob Dylan.
|
Reading The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomason
