Finished John Grisham's The King of Torts yesterday. I liked it quite a bit. It was a nice follow-up to The Summons, which I enjoyed equally as much.
I started on two books (one for bedtime reading and one for the bus): Stephen King's The Dark Tower VII and Everything's Eventual.

I just finished up The Dark Tower, and now reading Bev Vincent's The Road to the Dark Tower, which is an exploration of the series from it's inception to analysis of each book. Also, off and on I'm reading bits of Jon Stewart's America: The Book. Damn funny stuff, IMO.

I was attempting to read The Valachi Papers by Peter Maas, but I couldn't get into it. I'll try again before I return the book to Borders.
Had to take The Valachi Papers back, so now I'm reading Becoming Gentlemen: Women, Law School & Institutional Change by Lani Guinier, Michelle Fine & Jane Balin.

I just finished Tanequil by Terry Brooks. I've been so busy that I haven't had much chance to read, so my usual "get sucked in and read the book in a day or two" turned into two weeks for both Jarka Ruus and Tanequil... I wanted to re-read the first one before starting the 2nd. I really liked it, but found some things to be pretty obvious.
Overall I really enjoyed it, but man this waiting between books is a killer!
Next I am going to try and get back into Jorge Luis Borges Collected Fictions. I can't seem to get past the first two stories, though I have read them both twice now.

Mrs. Dalloway and a bunch of Greek tragedies (all for school). And lots of magazine slush.

Chaos & Amber
2nd in a trilogy of prequel books to Zelazny's Amber series.
Not a bad read. It has a little of the Zelazny flair to it.

Gonna finish Hot Plastic over lunch today. Quick, enjoyable book about grifters. Started out pretty light but is ending with some brutal, bloody scenes. Recommended for fans of anti-hero/con novels.
And following my plan to alternate modern literature with classics, I'll be diving into Henry James' Ghost Stories next.
