I really want this book but can't find it anywhere and most online stores say it hasn't been released yet with no date given.

What should I do?

I'm going to order a copy from www.amazon.ca, in a few minutes. Hopefully it doesn't get delayed.

Depends what you're looking for. If it's a better price, I'd just suggest taking your chances on Amazon or another store. For $40, I believe you can order a signed copy (Peter Bracke) from www.crystallakememories.com.

Edit: Okay, so maybe it wasn't that website, but going over to Buy.com, they have it in stock. I think I'll be moving my order from Amazon now.

How much did you preorder it for? If it was $26 like mine, I'd suggest going over to buy.com. I ordered it yesterday for $23.73 and it's shipped already! Still says it's in stock right now too.

Got mine yesterday. It's really a beautiful book. I haven't even had a chance to actually read any of it yet, but its loaded with great images and is just a nice piece of work.

A notice arrived in the mail yesterday, saying that my book is at the post office. It's going to be a Christmas present, so I'll have to wait until next Sunday to read any of it, or even look at it for that matter. Sucks knowing about it.

Though I do have to say after reading this book. Dana Kimmel has gotten a pretty bad rap over the years for her supposed hatred of the horror genre. She was actually one of the ones who seemed to have a more positive outlook towards it than some of the others.

Rabid fans will not feel so friendly towards heroines such as Kimberly Beck and the guy who plays Chuck after reading this.

Very interesting read for those into the series. Even a very interesting read for movie historians not into the series and other horror fans not into the series.

Reading about the Part 2 spear scene from someone who actually saw it at one time makes it sound very graphic.

Part 5 was a porno in the woods loaded with violence. Though, no big surprise. It still seems like a porno in the woods. Just less porno and less violence.

The tickets sold, money made, & DVD sales was a fun section too. I like knowing about these things.

Though Jason X been the number 2 DVD in the series behind Freddy vs Jason sold is kind of scary. Freddy vs Jason was number 1 by a huge margin with a couple plus million copies of the DVD sold.

Top Three Sold:
Freddy vs Jason
Jason X
The Friday the 13th box set (the one with the first 8)

Individual sequels are pretty far behind the above. Very far behind.

Jason X (New Line) was a new movie on DVD with special features, vs. overpriced barebones that everyone already owned on VHS (Paramount). What is interesting to me is the good sales for Jason Goes To Hell (NL) compared to the much more popular 1-8 (Paramount) which just goes to show that special features, decent pricing and maybe an uncut film can go a long way.

I've always defended Dana Kimmell (helps that she's one of my fav. F13 women). She told Fangoria that she wasn't a big fan of the sex and violence and asked about curbing some of that. This somehow turned into Dana in the editing booth taking out whatever she didn't like, which is rediculous. She was over-stating what she did exactly, taking out a reference in the script to having had sex with her boyfriend. It's implied instead. And considering her religious lifestyle, she's very positive when talking about the film and the fans. The same can't be said for a shocking number of people involved with these movies, especially around 4 and 5. Porn stars talk better about what they do. I guess a lot of these people grew up in a different time. It's funny because I watched these movies as a kid thinking these actors were so lucky to get to do one of these movies.

Got mine the end of last week from Buy.com! Amazon's loss for trying to make me wait until the end of January '06 when I ordered it in like September originally. Amazon! It is indeed a great looking book, but all I've had time to read is the forward.
