I am going to risk overturning my original youthful enthusiasm and take a stab at the James Blish "Cities in Flight" collection of four novellas in one volume: I can vaguely recall reading one of the novellas as a schoolchild; probably in some (Hugo or Nebula?) anthology. If the copyright information is to be believed they <i>originally</i> saw print in 1970.

Blish was one of the Futurians, whose number included Frederick Pohl and Isaac Asimov. The books are said to have reinvented the traditions of space opera! My copy is published as part of the Orion/Gollancz SF <A HREF="http://www.sfsite.com/lists/orion01.htm" target="_blank">Masterworks</a> <A HREF="http://freespace.virgin.net/johna.fairhurst/Books/Masterworks/index.htm" target="_blank">series</a>.

Dennis Lehane's (authour of Mystic River )A Drink Before War. I'm about halfway through, and its pretty decent.

Gilliam on Gilliam, BFI's Jane Campion, and Interviews with Campion.......

Just read Robert McCammon's short story, Makeup last night, in the Blue World collection, and started his novel, They Thirst. :)

Just finished Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and I absolutely loved it.

The Butchers Boy by Thomas Perry. Currently reading the follow up to Butchers Boy Sleeping Dogs, with Metzgers Dog to follow that.

Currently about half through Scavenger Reef by Laurence Shames.

Currently finishing <u>Bias</u> by Bernie Goldberg and getting ready to start <u>The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison</u> by Jeffrey Reiman.

Right now I am in the middle of the John Jakes "North and South" series - page 404 of "Love and War".

I'm currently reading Angry White Pyjamas by Robert Twigger, I'm almost finished with it and I only started it a couple days ago, so it must be good. I'm also making my way through The Rebel by Albert Camus.
