Newly discovered Heinlein novel, "For Us The Living: A Comedy of Customs"

I was going through my book recommendations at Amazon and saw that in January 2004, they are going to publish an undiscovered Robert Heinlein novel "For Us, The Living : A Comedy of Customs." He wrote this back in 1939, and unlike most of his early fiction this is one of his "future history" novels that was aimed at more of a mature audience

I'm really excited about this. I ready everything Heinlein wrote when I was a kid and can't wait to get my hands on it.

Wow, that sounds cool. I'm like you, I think I've read almost everything he's written [that's in print], sometimes 2 or 3 times. Definitely going to look for this one, I love his Future History stories/novels [and that whole genre.]

That is cool. I'll get it for sure.

The plot sounds a little similar to Job: A Comedy of Justice.

There are reasons why unpublished novels are unpublished. Heinlein didn't know about this novel? He wrote it...Or did he?;)

What I thought was that maybe his wife had died recently, and this was found in the estate.

To slightly change the subject...

I want to collect all of his so-called juveniles in hard back, which looks like it's going to be a difficult job. I think they all need to be reissued.

Sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up!

I think I'll order it too. Even an average or below average Heinlein novel should still be worth reading.

Update!

Looks like the book is coming out in December, not January. I had placed a preorder with Amazon, got an email sent to me that my item has been shipped.

finsihed it.

Spoiler:
As noted in the afterward this book does provide a lot of the concepts that would be used in a lot of other Heinlein books. I enjoyed it although the story could be thin at times (what with all the lectures and all). I wish Heinlein would have concluded what the deal was with Perry, did he come through space and time? was he some clone that had his personally imprinted in it? No one seems nearly as interested in that as they are his caveman concept of monogamy ;)
