I don't always know in advance what my next book will be but I can say for sure that in a few days I will be reading the third and last of <A HREF="http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=190106" target="_blank">Gene Wolfe</a>'s Short Sun books, "Return to the Whorl"!

Right now I am reading A Door Away From Heaven by Dean Koontz. Starting Tuesday it will be Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King.

Finishing off Mystic River today, and then will start the Elvis Cole books by Robert Crais. The first one will be The Monkeys Raincoat. Also hope to receive The Butchers Boy and Metzgers Dog by Thomas Perry for by birthday later this month.

About to finish Fellowship of the Ring (for the second time) and will be moving on to The Two Towers in the next day or two.

I'm starting to get a little freaked out! Yeah, I finally gave up trying to find Perrys older books at the book sales, and have bitten the bullet and ordered them. My wife also agreed to buy me the first several books in the Matt Scudder series that are older and hard to find. But since we share the same brain you already knew that didn't you!!!

Finishing up Dilbert: Way of the Weasel for my fun read. Today I'm going to be all over Wolves of the Calla.

Just finished Iain Banks - The Wasp Factory. One of the more ****ed up books I've ever read. The main character was a murderer by the age of 5. By 9 he had killed three relatives. His brother has escaped from a mental hospital where he was sent because he liked to set dogs on fire and eat them and force kids to eat maggots and worms. And it only gets more insane from there.

Up next, Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem, about a private investigator with Tourette's Syndrome. Won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Best Fiction of 1999.

I recommend that you ought to check out Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami. It is a little screwed up but remains beautiful throughout. Great book...

You're in for a real treat. The Elvis Cole books are among the best of that genre.

Just finished a book by Graham Masterton. As usual, the title escapes me, but it was about a Nazi-created mutant hunting those associated with the Home Army in the sewers of Warsaw.

Right now I'm in Mosaic by John Maxim. It's not great, but okay enough to finish.

:up: Other than Along Came A Spider, this is probably my second favorite book of his. 2nd Chance was very good as well. Hopefully he will continue the characters in future novels.

Why?

Last night I finished Yann Martel's Life of Pi. Now I see what all the word-of-mouth buzz was about...what an amazing read!

Today I started Stephen King's 4th installment in the Dark Tower saga, Wizard & Glass.

I'm finally able to get some reading in after not reading anything for a couple months. I'm reading Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich.

I just finished the newest book in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkin its titled "Naked Empire".
I found it to be ok but all his books seem to build to a very short ending. Might be just me??

I guess I will start rereading the series by Richard R.R. Martin in hopes that the next book titled "feast for crows" will be out early next year.

I love door stoppers !

<b>To: Michael Corvin</b> One of my co-workers loaned me 1st To Die, which I loved. Love to see women as the main characters, although <b> The List</b> by Steve Martini was horrible. Hoping to read <b>2nd Chance</b> after <b>Flesh & Blood</b>.

<b>To: Geofferson</b> I had to stop reading <b>Mystic River</b> b/c I just couldn't get pass the first few pages. I have a strange reading system. If I can't get pass the first few pages, I will not read the book, even though I tourtured myself with <b>The List</b>. I know this sounds silly, but when visiting Barnes & Noble, I choose books by how intrigues I am by the covers. Just think about all the great books I have passed on b/c I did not like the cover. Also, if I like a particular author, I will read all of his books one after another. I did that with Steve Martini's books.
