Persecution by David Limbaugh take 2

Okay, let's see if we can do thin in a librarian fashion. :)

Has anyone else started or read this?

Some interesting point that the libertarians would like. All schools started as privately financed schools. Massachusetts (I believe) passed the first law making it mandatory for any community with at least 50 families to support a school themselves.

Actually very intriguing from a libertarian view.

I would enjoy discussion with anyone starting or finished with it. :)

I am only 1/3 of the way through, and so far it is a book about the history of schools in the country and how they were very Christian in origin. Part of it also just goes over the various cases in which schools have tried to supress Christianity while promoting othe religions (or at least not discouraging it like they do Christianity).

It is most interesting from a First Amendment perspective. My interest has been in what is and isn't allowed by the courts in schools (being a school board member).

I'm not going to get to it right away. I'm reading Bill O'Reily's book now (Living With Herpes) and I've got Dave Barry's (Boogers Are My Beat) next. Sounds like its worth reading though.

I know I've seen someone talking about this before. How Christianity is handled differently from other religions in schools. It okay to be openly opposed to it, but not the other minor religions. The smaller groups make more noise I guess. I agree if you are going to keep Christ out of schools the other religions have to be treated the same.

On schools, I strongly recommend:
