how long will it take you to read order of the phoenix?

just curious. it's so anticipated and 600+ pages. how long do you think it'll take you to finish it?

PalmerJoss 06-16-03 02:50 PM

It took me 2 days to read Goblet of Fire, so I anticipate 1 more day for the added 100+ pages in Order of the Phoenix.

My wife gets it first so who knows :(

Groucho 06-16-03 03:34 PM

I am getting this for my wife as a birthday present, so we'll both be reading it at the same time. Based on the length, I'm guessing it'll take me a total of four or five hours to get through (barring distractions and such).

I thought for a second Evelyn Wood was posting.

I'm hoping to average 100 pages a day, but who knows

hotaru_san 06-16-03 08:09 PM

I'm not sure, I would love to read it really fast but I have to share my copy with my boyfriend and I will probably have a bunch of annoying school work to do. :p

bluntman72 06-16-03 08:22 PM

I have a 16 hour flight the next day so I should have it done within a day or two.

silentbob007 06-18-03 07:06 PM

I'll probably have it done in a day or two. I could probably read it faster, but it is for enjoyment, not a race. Besides the faster we read this book, the longer it will be for the next one to come out.

Jackskeleton 06-18-03 07:24 PM

A few days. But I'll be hooked, that's for sure.

Ginwen 06-19-03 10:31 AM

If it hooks me in, I'll probably finish it this weekend or Monday (and my sleep will suffer tremendously, especially since I'm not going to just read all day this weekend).

Spooky 06-19-03 10:58 AM

I can be a fast reader if I want to be, but considering the next Potter book is probably 3 years away, why would I want to rush through this one in a few days? For me - a chapter a day until it's finished. Sure, that means I'll probably be the last one on Earth who finds out who gets killed in this one, but I want to ENJOY the novel, not rush through it...

Kal-El 06-19-03 11:26 AM

I'll be getting it at midnight tomorrow and will have to really fight the urge to read it right away when I go home. Thankfully it's the weekend so by Sunday I'll probably be done.

Stoolie 06-19-03 11:58 AM

I'll be waiting until next week to get it, and then I'll take my time to read it. I'm not a huge fan, but I am interested to see what happens.

jpcamb 06-19-03 12:01 PM

a week or two, genraly read for an hour or less and a bit over a page per minute so long books take some time for me....

silentbob007 06-19-03 03:05 PM

Remember people, no accidents trying to read in the car on the way home in the post-midnight darkness .... ;)
