Will postage costs kill the book trading forum?
Mongo posted something up there along the same lines. Since paperbacks are relatively cheap (vs. DVD) will the cost of postage kill the idea?
I was planning to post a list of books that I was will to just give away for postage, but the reality is that you can pick the same title up in a used bookstore for not much more and at a garage sale for a lot less.
It stinks because I love reading and would like to do what I can to promote that idea. I don't post here a lot, but I love the "what are you reading" thread and I get a lot of my new reading chioces from that.

I dunno- look at the amount of paperbacks available on half.com for $.50 or less. You might have a point. But then again, half charges an outrageous $3 shipping minimum, which makes it hardly worth the bother.
Although I've never found used bookstores to be all that cheap. The few by me charge 1/2 the cover price, which can be good on older books, but not on recent ones.
I think the swap idea is a good one, especially if people find books they really want.

It certainly is cheaper when you're sending more than one book.
It's also a good idea to spring for Delivery Confimation as media mail sometimes gets hung-up.
