IT took almost a month, but I finished the Wheel of Time (so far)
I started the series on February 27th, and finished the tenth book today, although there were some days that I didn't read. It took me 15 days, total.
There are supposed to be 12 books in all, correct? Does anyone know when the 11th is due to come out? I will probably wait until all 12 are out before I re-read the series.
I have been having dreams based on these books since the first day I started reading them... Has anyone else experienced stuff like this from this series, or any other?

I don't think there's any official word that the series will definitly end at 12 books. Personally, with the way Jordan is writing, and the slow pace at which the plot is progressing, I'd say that 14/15 books minimum.

So how many pages was it? I stopped counting at around 14 or 15 billion...
(No seriously, that's really fast, at least compared to me...)

Took me about 3 months to read books 1-8 a few years ago. Now I'm waiting for the series to finish up before I read it again.
I read an interview with Robert Jordan a couple of months ago where he said the series would be no longer than 15, but he was trying for 12. I think 15 is probably going to be the least he can do it in, unless he just gives up and writes book 12 as an abrupt ending.

Wheel Of Time Question
I'm about to start reading this series of books but I noticed a prequel has just come out. Would I get more benefit from reading the prequel first or should I read them in the order they were written?

A friend of mine said the CoT behemoth 1000 pages or whatever all took place in the course of 1 day. Said it was very slow and went nowhere. Kinda disappointing considering the amount of pages.
I myself have only read the first one. It was good.

I read the prequel today (New Spring: The Novel) and it made me wonder if he was going to do any more on that story, as it seemed to end without tying everything up.

Can one read the first one(the eye of the world) without reading the others,i mean does it have an ending or does it leave off right in the middle of the quest like the lord of the ring novels?

There is an ending of sorts yes, but it is also only the beginning of the saga... I say read on if it keeps you interested
I thought the first 4 books were excellent, books 5 through 9 from ok to good, but what did it for me was COT (book 10). Seriously, one of the WORST books I ever read period. While I was reading I kept imagining Robert Jordan laughing like a maniac and counting his money
Meanwhile I just finished "A Storm of Swords" by George RR Martin (Can't wait for "A feast for Crows!!)
Will also start "Gardens of the Moon" by Steven Erikson shortly.
