Qustion about book mentioned in Six Feet Under Season 1
Hi, i just got done watching the first season of Six Feet Under on dvd. In the show, a book is mentioned in relationship to two characters. It's supposedly a childrens book by a British author, and the two main characters are a brother and sister named Nathanial and Isabelle. I was just wondering if this book was real, or if they just made it up for the show. Thanks.
If this is the wrong forum, and the thread belongs in dvdtalk or tv talk, I apologize.

I don't watch it but, from a peremptory [edit] cursory [/edit] Google search I can offer the title "Charlotte: Light and Dark" which some say is based on (?) "Lisa, Bright and Dark".... and apparently there was a film of the original book.

Thanks Benedict for the info, but that's not really the book I'm trying to find out about. One of the characters in the show had a book written about her, called CharlotteL Light and Dark, which as you pointed out, may be based on the book you mentioned.
I'm actually looking for info about a possibly made-up childrens book that this character would read to her brother.
Anyway, thanks for the effort.

Curses!
I was too cursory!
This newsgroup discussion was inconclusive and does indeed mention two separate books: http://tinyurl.com/5shn
I tried a few more key-word searches but couldn't find anything else. My knowledgeable literary contacts probably wouldn't get back to me within a reasonable time span but I'll try to remember to ask around.
Perhaps you could check out whether any of the people on the newsgroup(s) think it was a book made-up just for the show; a fictional fiction, if you will!
