Desperation and The Regulators question...
I am about to read them and I know they are tied together.
Which should I read first? and Why?
Thanks!
-Steve

I'm an on-and-off poster at a SK message board, and this question once came up. 99% of the time the answer was to read Desperation first. Can't remember why, though. If you're looking for classic King, though, I'd skip them both. I thought they sucked. But hey, it's all IMHO.

Thanks Tom!
These are the only 2 King books I have not read because I have heard of their suckness.
Figured I'd finally break down and give them a shot.

Well, the best of luck to you. Desperation is pretty good... up until a certain point where (IMO) everything cool and scary about the main villain is taken away and becomes a big wuss. If you can make it through that, Regulators is fun in a brainless kinda way. It's the kind of book you can't remember too much about a week after you finish it.

I just happened to read Desperation first but I don't know that it really matters.
I thought they were pretty good, though not his best.

Desperation is the superior of the two, in my opinion. I actually liked it quite a bit. The Regulators, on the other hand, was among his weakest work, I'd say.
Just my opinions. Oh, and for what it's worth, I read Desperation first.

Desperation was okay until it was all explained. Kind of reminded me of the Langoliers in that way. Cool up to a point, but when the big explanation comes its like, huh? thats it?.
Regulators sucked. Nothing scary, suspensful or interesting.
