Does anyone know the title of the book that gave Vanilla Sky its backbone?

Vanilla Sky is a remake of a foreign film by the name of Abre los ojos. According to the triva for this movie on IMDB ( http://us.imdb.com/Trivia?0125659 ):

So there's no book that it's "based" on, but the screenplay is available at Amazon.com
