I would like to see Stephen King The Gunslinger.
The other three books are a bit trippy, so you would need to see if Gunslinger survived first.

Also, I would like to see Dragonlance Chronicles made into a quality animated film. I do not think real-life could do it justice.

"Replay," by Ken Grimwood.

And after seeing "Harry Potter," a definite thumbs up for a movie of "Ender's Game," although I've been worried about the direction this would take if it ever gets made.

Or they could just remake Groundhog Day!

I liked Replay, as it happened. Quite weird ending/denouement IIRC, however.

Any R.L. Stine or Christopher Pike books. After all these years you think it would of happened by now.

I will second all of the following:

The Alienist - Fantastic book that would make a great movie. BTW, Caleb Carr may his directing debut with an Exorcist prequel.

Ender's Game - I would have to agree dstrauss about being worried about the direction this movie would take. This movie could either be very very very good, or suckkekekeke. No in between I think.

Any of the Repairman Jack novels. Another good choice.

I myself would like to see a Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch character or Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta character (the early stuff) come to the big screen.

Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels. And keep the character just as he is, no diluting.

The Drizzt and company saga by Salvatore, but I really don't think they could pull that one off.

My dream film is an Atom Egoyan adaptation of Nadine Gordimer's July's People.

Looks like they've been playing around with the idea for five years or more:-

Returning to the point, I'm sad to say that one of my favourite works, Gene Wolfe's New Sun sequence, is probably unfilmable. Of course people said that about LOTR.... hmmmm....

Dream Park by Niven, Pournelle and Barnes.

It's a slightly futuristic world where a company has created the ultimate amusement park. Using computer holograms and real locations, they've created a place where people can play Dungeons and Dragons "for real."

It was also a good murder mystery book.

R.L. Stine? They've made movies from his books, and if memory serves me correctly there was a FOX series done from his stories a few years ago.

dpham00 scurries away from the book forum so he'd stop making a fool of himself.

Great links.
This is from one of them:

December 3, 2001... The Philotic Web exchanged emails with Orson Scott Card to catch up on the latest developments with the Ender's Game movie. The following is direct from the novelist himself:

"Paramount and Universal both passed on EG during 2001, though Nickelodeon wanted it to be their first grown-up feature. But then, the Tues. before Thanksgiving, Miramax made noises that sound like the real thing. They aren't a studio (i.e., no distribution) but they have the money to make whatever they want to make, AND they make classy movies, not just action junk, so the goal will be to make Ender's Game truly as good as the book. There's many a lawyer between 'yes' and an actual deal, but they already know about the elements that have been deal breakers before (i.e., OSC as writer, Ender played under 12 years old), so maybe it will actually happen. Nothing definite, but I thought you'd want to know."

I'm looking forward to Terry Gilliam's film version of Good Omens. Neil Gaiman is the man, he and Terry Pratchett have created some impressive characters. It'll be interesting to see who's asked to fill the roles.

Two books:

Relic and Reliquary by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child.

Now, I know they made "The Relic" which was based on Relic, but, it was not very true to the book...trust me, if they took those two books, broke them up into three movies, it would be the coolest sci-fi thriller you've seen in a while... must look into book rights...i'm gonna make these myself! Paramount and Peter Hyams did an ok job, but that flick was not the same story as the book....
