I am a longtime fan of Clive Cussler. I hope he enjoys his retirement but like a previous poster said...writers don't retire completely!! We'll see some more material from Clive!!

I personally have not enjoyed his last two or three books as well as the others in his series. The series kind of peaked for me with Sahara and Inca Gold. I still enjoy them and will continue to get any new Dirk Pitt novels he decides to crank out!

Anyone heard anything about a Dirk Pitt movie? Last I heard Matthew McConahge was talked about for the lead role.

Take care all!!!

Clive Cussler has written some of the worst books that I have every read, they leave me shaking my head almost constantly. But, I read them all . . . they're the ultimate guilty pleasure.

(Even these new co-written books that have really lowered the bar!)

It's already in post-production.

And I like the cast.

There was no info or reviews, but the cover art did say a Dirk Pitt novel. Don't know if it is a new book or merely a retitled older book, but something to watch out for anyway.
Black Wind is a new Dirk Pitt novel written by Clive Cussler and his son Dirk. It's released in North America on 30th November, and in the UK on 2nd December this year.

His son is named Dirk?

Was the son named after the character (rather narcicistic if you ask me) or the other way around?

I'm glad to hear he has another book coming out!

I love his books. I realize they aren't the best writing in the world, but I love them for their cheesy action good-guy-always wins plots. They are something simple that I can easily get lost in, which I quite often need nowadays. I especially like the amount of marine adventure that goes on.
