I'm getting ready to trade for an OOP hardback I've been wanting. The description says Incorporated Hardcover. Does that signify anything in particular? Like that it was a corporate handout one or something?

thanks

This is just a guess, but it might be referring to the hardcovers that have the cover art printed directly on the cover, instead of having a dust jacket. I've seen them in libraries on occasion. Hopefully someone can confirm or correct this idea.

ahh...could be. The book is Survivor by C. Palahniuk. Anyone have the hardback that can say whether it's printed on cover or dust-jacket?

i have a first edition hardcover of "Survivor," and it's got a dust jacket.

Hmm...I don't think I've ever seen a Chuck P. hardcover book. Interesting.

"Fight Club," "Survivor," and the new "Choke" all had hardcover first editions (and i own em all in that format :)). "Invisible Monsters" was a trade paperback original (i.e., no hardcover).

btw...a possible answer to the original question. note that the publisher's name is W. W. Norton & Company, Incorporated. perhaps that's where the word "Incorporated" is coming from.

This is seeming like the most obvious answer.
