The reviews at Amazon seem to indicate that it is a stupendous action-adventure book. On the other hand, Amazon reviews tend to be favorable. Does anyone care to share their thoughts on these books?
Thanks,

gona have to secondthat opinion. A really good read. If you liked that you may want to check out Lincoln Child and Douglas J. Preston. THey wrote Relic, as well as a number of other good adventure type novels. Not as heavy on the action, but good. Another author is James Rollins. He has two books out that read very much like Reilly. Heavy action and adventure in the real world, but with a little sci fi/fantasy thrown in. Good stuff!

Thanks for the reviews everybody. I will definitely be checking them out. And yep, I'm familiar with Preston and Child. Reliquary (Relic sequel) is pretty good! They're like Crichton with better characters, though their stories tend to have some subplots that kind of go nowhere.

I finally read it. Very entertaining book! I don't remember the last time I completed a novel so quickly. 500+ pages in only 2 or 3 evenings. It could make an even better movie.

Let me join in the chorus of praise for this book. It's a fast-paced, riveting read. HOWEVER: I hope you don't expect realism in any way, shape or form. Just leave your brain at the door and enjoy yourself.

Just read Reilly's third novel, Temple. It's more of an Indiana Jones-style adventure story. It was rather disappointing. The plot felt unfocussed. He seemed to lose track of the story from time to time and many of the situations lacked the inventiveness of Ice Station. To be honest, I had to force myself to finish this one.
