Is MVD A SCAMMER?

Placed order 11/23. They've taken the money. Website shows order as "unfulfilled" (unshipped).
I wrote them yesterday & they did not replay.
Has anyone done business with them? I'm close to filing a chargeback.

I've ordered from them a few times and its touch and go on how fast they ship. Once was in a day, other in several days and once it took two weeks. and they can take up to 3 business days to write back ive noticed too.

No, they aren’t.

Small shops aren’t Amazon. They can take several weeks to fulfill orders placed during Black Friday sales.

MVD is a niche media distributor who decided to open up their own sub-labels and occasionally sell directly to consumers. Many music documentaries would never hit BD if not for them.

I had a successful internet business for many years. I ALWAYS replied to inquires same day. And believe me, we were much smaller than Amanzon, but still pretty large in the day. My order has now been sitting "unfulfilled" for 8 days, & no reply to inquires. At best, I will NEVER buy from them again; at worst, they will be seeing a chargeback by end of week if I don't get a reply.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

Yeah, they're a smaller company helping keep the physical media torch alive. They just did a big Black Friday sale, so they're probably pretty swamped fulfilling orders right now. I did a pretty big order myself.

My experience with them has been good. There were a couple titles I bought from them that had some errors (I believe Lionheart had to be fixed twice), but they went out of their way to make it right. Just be patient. They'll take care of you as quickly as they can.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

Yeah, I ordered 8 titles and they are all unfulfilled, as well. The only vendor that has made any progress with shipping my shit has been Severin with that Four Flies 4K set, but I'd say that they are a much bigger boutique label than MVD. Honestly, I wouldn't worry. MVD had one of the better online Black Friday sales out there. IMO

They are 100% legit, don't be a dick and do a chargeback.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

From the majority of the posts, it seems like they are a legitimate retailer, although pretty shitty in fulfilling orders in a timely fashion and responding to emails. If OP is not satisfied with the lack of service from this company in a reasonable amount of time, OP should of course do a chargeback.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

Five, now 6 orders from them over the last few years with no problems. All movies were received in good condition and can not remember if I ever tried to contact their cs.
Believe they use media mail for at least bigger orders, so it is going to be slow.

Your order shows
unfulfilled, MVD might be waiting on a film you order that went out of stock. But they should keep you and others updated, even though I'm sure they got swapped. MVD had someone posting on blue-ray.com during the sale,

Order 15 movies on November 25 . They are located in PA, I'm south of Salem Oregon.
Tracking says my order is in Salem with a delivery date set for this Wednesday.
At least for us. USPS has lived up to the name "snail mail" lately. I no longer get my medicine through the mail, as I no longer rely on it getting it in a reasonable time.

They are the DICK for not taking 1 minute to respond to more than 1 email.

Never take it personally. They're just a business and you don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

However, if their customer service doesn't meet your standards, you're within your rights to cancel your order.

I was responding to "Joltman" with that statement. He meant for his statement to be taken personally. I was just trying to learn of other's experiences. Sounds to me like they are legit with very poor customer service. I won't be ordering from them ever again, but I will give them a few more days based on the feedback here.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

You can be upset about not getting a response and never order from them again. But you only do a chargeback if you aren't expecting to get your order, and there is zero reason to think that you won't get your order.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

I got my shipping notice two days ago and they should be here in five days or so. However, after making my order, I had buyers remorse for about half of the 12 titles I ordered. Regardless, the prices were too good to pass up and for many of them well under half of what you can buy those titles from on Amazon or elsewhere. Now I shall wait for Pony Express to deliver both happiness and disappointment.

MVD is an excellent company to deal with, if you want to cancel your order, they will.

Dude was a dick for calling you out for mentioning doing a chargeback. Your situation was exactly what chargebacks are for. You placed an order, haven't received the order, and got no response to repeated attempts at contacting the company. You had no expectation whatsoever that he order was actually coming.

Re: Is MVD A SCAMMER?

I can understand MooMoo's position. If I was dealing with a small company that I have never dealt with before, they took my money, no movement on shipment and they never responded to my inquiries, then I would be nervous, too.

In this case MVD is legit and I hope everything will be work out. However, in general, I think it is normal to be concerned about situations like this. Just my opinion.
