Amazon Prime Day 2020 in October

Latest information is that it will be held sometime during the week of October 5th per CNBC. This is still not official.
It's probably is dependent on the virus situation in October and how Amazon is functioning then.

Less than two months before Black Friday? Why bother at this point. Oh well, Prime Days have been decidedly lackluster IMO anyway.

Did they offer anything last year that anyone actually wanted? I know I didn't buy anything both years they've tried it.

Outside of discounts on books or if you need some kind of Amazon hardware like a Kindle, Prime Day hasn't been all that hot lately. It's a marketing gimmick designed to generate media awareness for Prime.

Having already seen the retail devastation brought on by the extended shutdowns, fairly soon Amazon won't face any competition beyond Walmart.

Gift Card with a discount has been my normal purchase. Usually they'll have a couple movies though usually it the same one's every year or similar/worse prices than they have during a normal sale.

Most I seemed to note the deals were mainly on Amazon branded merchandise -- kindle, echo, Alexa, etc.

It must suck being an Amazon warehouse worker. Between the normal crap and then being busier than normal with the pandemic. Plus having to worry about Prime Day, Black Friday, and Christmas in the span of a few months.

Too close to BF, so I doubt there will be one this year.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2020 in October

BF should look very different this year. It will likely be more online focused which kind of defeats the original purpose of BF which was to get people into stores and buy not only sale items but full priced impulse purchases.

Prime is getting expensive.

And Warehouse Deals are not deals anymore. I've been getting broken merchandise on a regular basis from them from their Warehouse Deals division. Otherwise, their shipping and products, when new, are fantastic. But their WD...is taking a big big risk.

There haven't been any Amazon Prime Day deals that have remotely interested me.

And Yes, Prime is getting expensive. They should offer tiered Prime deals, one for the people who want it all, and one for the people who are just interested in free shipping and don't care about all that other stuff (me).

I'm getting concerned that their previous Excellent CS with returns is going downhill. I should know on 2 issues very soon.

Amazon has a page for Amazon Prime Day 2020. So far all it says is
Prime Day 2020
Prime Day is an annual deal event exclusively for Prime members, delivering two days of special savings on tons of items. Prime Day 2020 dates for the United States have not been announced yet.

Aren't the Warehouse Deals just all of the shit that people have returned, most of which was probably broken or damaged to begin with?

yes. With the abominably huge 'Amazon inspected' and 'warehouse deals' stickers slapped everywhere. On one of my BD orders, the sticker was on the cover art (not the cover)

I got a great pair of B&W headphones at 1/2 off a couple years ago + the digital music B&W subscription. The box appeared unopened.

Here’s what to expect on Amazon Prime Day 2020

Nothing that new to read here. Basically states what has been available in previous sales ( lots of Amazon Electronics) and that the sale will be 2 days, most likely in October as an early start to holiday shopping.

I've accidentally discovered you can combine the buy 2 4k movies for $30, and the buy 2 get one free deal, so you get 2 discounts.
