Still no deal on Deep Red 4k. I know I’m gonna cave and end up paying forty something.

New Arrow sale on boxed sets. Some decent prices in this bunch when you break some of them down 'per movie' . . .

Pretty much all the £7-8 (older titles) and £10 (newer release) appear to repriced at £9 and 12.
Not sure if this is just this sale or THG's new price points for sale since they bought Arrow, I suspect the latter.

Got a little bonus at work so I splurged on the Cold War Creatures box and The Invisible Man Appears.

the sticker shock from everyday things like groceries is having me rein in discretionary spending to the point where I have stopped purchasing media altogether save for the finds at the occasional thrift store run. Volatile times we’re living in

Re: ARROW / MVD flash sales

I wanted a few things but the prices are just not that good. At best I'd save a buck or three over most other vendor's "everyday" prices and that's just not enough to get me to bite.

Re: ARROW / MVD flash sales

I caved on the Arrow US sale and bought the Battles Without Honor and Humanity series for $30 (included $5 shipping) + taxes. That seemed like a good deal to me.

Not sure where else to put this since it might only be of interest to Canadians, but Unobstructed View has a new 48-hour flash sale on Arrow titles. Some improved pricing over their previous sales, too:

Another Arrow Video sale, this one at Grindhouse Video. The usual titles at the usual prices, but the Shaw Brothers box at $90 seems to be a new low.

As a former owner of that set, I say why not. They're, uhh, shitty films overall, but it's hard to deny the filmmakers' sense of commitment . . .

For the record, I have seen the first, and Zombie Pestilence as well, but maybe not recently enough to come to my senses. Perhaps if I throw in the Coffin Joe 3-movie collection I will be redeemed.

New MVD Sale on Film Detective and Kit Parker Films titles. About time, too! I've had my eye on most of the Film Detective Blu-rays for ages, but aside from a few bargains at Hamilton Book, they rarely get this low:
Up to 50% off SRP on select titles - 6/20/22 Noon - 6/27/22 Noon East Coast Time
  • US customers only
  • While supplies last
  • Limit two copies, per title, per customer per order
  • Limit 15 total units per order
  • $5.99 Flat Rate Media Mail shipping for sale orders
  • Slipcovers are not guaranteed
  • Nearly 100 titles to choose from!

They're DVDs not blu-rays, but Hal Roach fans should note that this sale includes 3 volumes of Charlie Chase talkie shorts made at Roach, as well as collections of Thelma Todd/Zasu Pitts and Harry Langdon shorts. I'd be all over these if I didn't already own them; they are well done sets.

Re: ARROW / MVD flash sales

MVD is having an Arrow Video sale. I didn't buy any movies but I did snag their book selections, because they are $4.99 each and the Cult Films of Arrow Video is $14.99. I did not buy the Lonewolf and Cub book, because that one is still regular price ($24.95). My grand total was $43.47 with sales tax and flat $5.99 shipping.
