Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I've used the locker Discount a couple times since they first offered it. it seems they've reset it a couple times. First pickup station was a pharm less than a couple miles away which was great for an easy discount.
They stopped using that one and now the closest is 7-8 miles so much convenient unless I'm doing something else in the area. Luckily there's a Walmart Neighborhood store there that has a couple unique things
my wife wants that the more local SuperWM doesn't carry all the time so sometimes I can piggyback trips.

I'm not eligible this time FWIW.

Amazon Amazon

The Friday the 13th Shout Factory box set is only $79.99. That's an amazing deal if you are a fan of the series and like lots of extras.

They are copying Shout's current sale. Not sure of Amazon packaging for this. Personally, I would rather support Shout directly

If they are getting blown out, I wonder how long until they announce the remaining F13 films in 4K?

It might not be long for 2, 3, and 4, which have 4K scans ready to go. Wouldn’t surprise me if Paramount fields those themselves rather than licensing to Scream Factory.

Paramount hasn’t remastered 5, 6, 7, or 8. Jason Goes to Hell was newly-remastered but in 2K, and Warner hasn’t remastered Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason either.

So it’ll be a long wait if you’re looking for a complete collection.

Yeah, I kinda wonder on shipping from Amazaon. If anyone WAS going to order from Amazon, I'd suggest "Choose Gift Packaging" or something so an extra box is used.

The Fright Night remake with Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin Blu-ray is on sale for $4.99. I don't think it's ever been that low.

Not a bad film at all, it's perfectly watchable if not quite the charm of the original.

It;'s not that bad, imo. Colin Farrell does pretty good and has the late Yelchin in it, too. Has been rather expensive so I jumped on the price.

I liked it, but it's not as good as the original Fright Night. Farrell and Yelchin are good in it.

The Superman 5 movie 4K collection is down to $97.99

Amazon Amazon

That's still a little rich for me for a catalog title. I'm going to wait. I have no urgency to get it anytime soon.

Way too much. Really only like the first two films. Superman III has some moments I like but isn’t very good. Same with Superman Returns.

Its now $5.99, was considering buying it but on an outing y'day found the 3D version of the same at a thrift store for $0.99, came with the original lenticular slip as well though it has seen better days.

The Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection is on sale for $29.99. I don't think it's ever been that low, and as far as I can tell, they aren't matching anybody with that price.
I was always hoping there'd be a standard edition since I don't care about the swag, but I bit the bullet since it's a decent price.

Yeah, sticking it in a huge box with an ugly Funko Pop seems to have been made more with Funko Pop collectors in mind than Bugs Bunny fans. That being said, I bit the bullet for it when I think it hit $40-something.

I, too, bit on that set when it hit $40 in July 2020 as that was "good enough" and I figured it wouldn't go much lower... and it's *still* unopened on the shelf!! Of course had I waited, it'd now be OOP and going for stupid prices. lol

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Tempting, but I got to be real with myself that I would probably never watch it. And I don't need a $30 closet or shelf ornament.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I grabbed it at $30. Looks like the Funko has been going for about $20 on eBay. Should be easy enough to flip. Either that or I'll give it away to someone I know who collects them.

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Got my BB80 today (I had bought it the second time it dropped to 29.99). The digital code did redeem on Vudu, which I was worried about. Man, what a waste of space for a not-great Funko. I like tchotchkes and stuff, got a bunch of them on my dvd shelves, but this one's not great, especially for how much it jacked up the MSRP. I know a lot of people collect these. I guess I can't raise my eyebrows too high, my generation collected Beanie Babies. The limited edition sticker is on the big box, yay. (I'm number 4810.)
There's a half a dozen sellers on Amazon now selling a 'used copy' that 'may or may not have the digital code included' (ie, it doesn't.)

When I was a kid, I collected sports cards & comic books which are long gone now. The sports cards were in a damp shed. A friend who was a dealer told me the dampness cost me a fortune (I also gave a lot away at 14 or so when I decided I was too "cool" for sports cards). Today, all I collect is music & movies.

I would use the digital code before Warner expires it. Warner has been expiring all the digital codes. They are the only company doing this so far. The Universal old codes mostly still work at Itunes. Not true with warner.

Amazon has
Assassin's Creed (4K + Blu-ray + Digital Code?) Assassin's Creed (4K + Blu-ray + Digital Code?)
for $5.99 currently. Very underrated movie, imo. I liked it.
