Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

Nine film Spiderman 4k set import from Austraila $60 Lightening Deal . Just the 4k discs . No blu ray. No Digital code. It is region free as all 4k duscs are. This was about $69 on Black Friday 2022 per Camel X 3
Amazon Amazon

Reviews mention that the films don't have a Spanish dub option on this set.

The limited edition complete Big Bang Theory Complete sreries is a current lightening deal at $150. 20% claimed and 4 hours left as of this writing. The lowest this has been is about $105 per Camel x 3.
Amazon Amazon

Import of the complete Disney animation films mostly in blu ray is a lightening Deal on Tuesday at 14:20 (2:20 PM EST) . Lightening Deal about $230 for 57 discs. This is from 2020 so don't expect any newer movies. The lowest this has been is about $184 in July 2021 per Camel x 3. About 9 films are region B locked so won't black on US players that are not region free.
Amazon Amazon

These are all sold by 3rd parties but shipped by Amazon

Same, now let it go oop and skyrocket in value so I can feel better about paying $45 for catalog titles.

Amazon checkout is screwed up. I had a $35 GC and $9.51 in CC points - applied $6.45 for a purchase using points and after purchase, it deducted $6.45 from both the GC and points. Please be aware when you opt for similar payment options

I've been hearing several stories about Amazon issues this week. The site was completely down one early morning this past week.

This is still an issue. I went back and checked my order from earlier today - yep, both gift balance and CC points were deducted.

How absurd is this 😡 would suggest canceling the order. They also make it quite difficult now to reach cust service rep

Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection is $49.99 right now, matching its other all-time low around this time in 2021 and 2020. Otherwise, its average is $72 and is $80+ and I finally went for it.

It's not too hard if you know how. Just click "Help" at the bottom-right of any page. Then click "Help with something else", then "Something else", then "I need more help", then type "Representative".

Reaching them isn't all that hard for me; it's understanding people not speaking English as a first language.

For future reference, using CC points isn't ideal (I assume CC means credit card). When you do that, you're not earning more points on the portion that is paid with points. It's best to just use the CC points to get cash back.

I often subscribe to the same logic, but I make exceptions. For example, Discover cash back can be redeemed for gift cards and you can get an extra 5-20% back upon redeeming depending on the retailer. And I've used cash back to take advantage of special offers such as the one I describe below.

I'm not sure if my situation is the same or not, but I had received an e-mail in November about a Discover/Amazon promotion where if I used Discover cash back to pay for an Amazon purchase, I'd receive 30% off the order (and the discount could be used multiple times up to a total savings of $20-30, can't recall exactly). So when I made some Black Friday purchases, I would apply a token amount of Discover cash back to the purchase to trigger the 30% discount. I paid for the remainder of the purchase with my actual Discover card because they offer 5% cash back during the last quarter of the year. In case this is confusing, here is my pending order for the 4K of Lightyear which was on sale and has yet to ship:
Item(s) Subtotal: $8.61
Shipping & Handling: $0.00
Your Coupon Savings: -$2.87
Discover 30% off: -$2.58
Total before tax:$3.16
Estimated tax to be collected: $0.22
Rewards Points: -$0.50
Grand Total: $2.88

But with every order I placed, it was subtracting the purchase amount from my gift card balance as well as charging my credit card. The pending purchase above is currently listed in my gift card activity with a debit of $3.38 despite the fact that I didn't choose my gift card balance as a method of payment at all. However, from what I've observed with previous orders, once the order ships, it disappears from my gift card activity (and doesn't seem to affect my balance).

All's well that ends well. Originally my issue was I had a gift card balance on my Amazon account, somehow because I had ordered a chain gift card for someone they wouldn't let me use it and automatically charged my credit card and took my points. For two days they had charged my credit card and taken my gift card balance, but somehow the gift card balance was restored today without my intervention - the credit card points were correctly taken off.

Has anyone gotten a pre-order credit back on the Highlander 4K (price dropped before the release day, but hours after my order shipped)? --Peter

That usually takes a few days to process, but some folks over at the other forum said they did start to get their price difference back.

Stating you have a Kindle issue is one way to get someone in the USA.

The discounts for using points on Amazon is easily applied by using $.01 worth of points. You're really not losing anything in points value that way.

I'm not saying that's what happened here, just saying that you can still get the discounts that they often offer for using points in this manner.

Yes, you're definitely right. I meant in general it's not ideal, if there's some way to use credit card points and get another discount it's obviously worth it. Even then you should use as little points as necessary.

Amazon has had the
Game Of Thrones Complete Collection 4K Game Of Thrones Complete Collection 4K
for around $125 for about a week, then just checked and it's now $110.

I'm holding out till it's sub-$100.

Current price of $110 is actually $30 less than the Blu-ray collection.

Worth watching the Gruv price and use the 20% coupon: https://www.gruv.com/product/game_of...ion_4k_uhd_uhd
