Ouch. They've already billed my card on a 2 1/2 week out preorder.

If it's a CC, it's a temp/pre-auth that will fall off in a couple days. Usually they don't send a true charge that will post until around/after shipment.

For a while I was getting most of the preorder release day +/- a day. My Sept Blu-ray preorders were regularly shipping on Mon/Tues and arrived by Fri-Mon. BF/Thanksgiving week may change the exact timing and I'm not sure if the West Coast uses the same Kentucky warehouse as the East does. BN like most everyone else is directly fulfilled through Alliance.

A couple of the international posters on Bluray.com says it appears that whatever issues BN was having before now seem to be resolved.

I picked up Sex, Lies and Videotape along with Princess Bride on Friday so I'm done now. My particular B&N only had two copies (now 1) of SL&V but PLENTY of Princess Bride. Just FYI.

Re: Barnes & Noble Criterion 50% Off MSRP Sale November 2 through December 3, 2018

Picked up 6 titles on Saturday. My B&N didn't have a very good selection, and nobody actually working IN the media section anymore. There was a stack of DVDs and BDs that looked like they had just come out of shipping boxes, and I found one of the titles I wanted there (Andrei Rublev)...

I have a handful more that I'm after, so I might have to drive further into Houston to find them. I'm on the fence about the Bergman set coming out this month.

Don’t think I’ve gotten much of my money’s worth out of my membership this year, but hopefully find the Olympic and Bergman sets at local stores to pretty much pay for it.

You should be able to have the store bring the Olympic Box to you store and have it reserved for pickup (that different than a Pick Up in Store done through the website). If your store is getting some of the Bergman sets in on 11/20 you can ask them to reserve on for you to guarantee you have one. Note that some stores won't let you reserve such Large $$ items and are a little less likely to reserve a new release on BF week so if they say they will, I'd still be there Tuesday to pick it up.

At worst -- if your stores don't have you can do arrange a ShiptoHome order from the store for anything in stock at the warehouse. That allows your 10% off to apply since it's considered a store purchase
.
If you got those Welcome Coupons then the 5off50 coupon should still work on the Olympic box.

Obviously you have to mess with shipping, but with those 2 item that;s $35 along in savings

Count me in with the Bergman set as I reserved the only copy my local store was getting in. This set looks phenomenal!

I want to order the Bergman set. I go online but I don't see my additional 10% off even though I am a member until next July and my membership is showing on my online account. What am I doing wrong here?

The 10% is only in-store (or also in-store ship-to-home orders maybe).

Oh. Well I want to do that.
Guess I have to wait until it gets released then.

No maybe. Store generated ShipToHome orders get the 10% discount automatically. It's a really great perk in order to expand the 'instore inventory"
For those that hate the store or are too far away, many stores will allow phone in orders for ShiptoHome -- at least for items not in store and maybe for any item considered
as a store SKU. Most Phone in orders don't allow GiftCards though there are always exceptions

Definitely on -- almost all current release items online. I think the Web site said through 1/6 which is similar to last year.

In store it's selective though the shelf inventory is limited. I did pick up 12 Monkey and Day of the Jackal today. I also saw Hired Guns and Cat of Nine Tails with the 50% sticker and a couple more I already had like Fish Called Wanda. Store coupons also work for these items Since it goes past Christmas it could be a great use for the Gift Card Promotion cards that don't activate until 12/26

Images was in store, but not 50% off. Children of the Corn wasn't in the Sale Bin, but was in teh Halloween display with a 30% sticker. I didn't check the price at the register, but it's a maybe.

Yet to be determined in the Preorders that release over the next month will be allowed in the sale -- DeNiro Early Films and esp Waterworld

So how do I order that Bergman set with the 10% discount? Do I have to wait for it to get released? I wouldn't at all mind Ship to Store, but I'm not getting that option on the website.

^ call your local store and see if they'll place an order for you over the phone, or
show up at your local store and see if they'll place a pre-order in person.

I think that's about it.

Went to Barnes & Noble in Oak Brook because I like going into that location but their selection has really been pared down. They only had a DVD copy of The Princess Bride, which was the only title I wanted (and on Blu). They did have The Furies set with the book that I couldn't find on the website, so I got that there then went home and order Princess Bride, House, Andrei Rublev, Tree of Life and Three Outlaw Samurai.

I cancelled my Bergman & moved it to Amazon. Due to a small credit Amazon owed me, I saved a few dollars with the price match.

The Arrow aspect of this sale was far more important to me; Criterion had their flash sale last month, and I prefer buying from them to get the points towards the gift card.

12 Monkeys is currently sold out though, I hope they get more as the sale goes on. Still pulled the trigger on:
The Bloodthirsty Trilogy
Horrors of Malformed Men
The Pyjama Girl Case

Stopped by the B&N in Fairfield, CA who were in the middle of resetting their Media Section.

It no longer has the back of the story fully dedicated to it. Even with that, they still had a whole lot of Criterion titles.

Picked up:

The 39 Steps
Andrei Rublev
The Lady Vanishes

The Bergman is probably going to be it for me. There's also a lot of music I want in the next month & I'm pretty low income.

None of the B&N stores within a tolerable radius of me have a substantial physical-media section anymore, so it was actually a bit of a treat to walk into my local shop and pick up The Princess Bride for 50% off + 10% w/ member discount.

Yeah, after striking out at the physical store, I came home and placed an online order. Got Andrei Rublev, House, Tree of Life, Three Outlaw Samurai and (of course) The Princess Bride.
Add that to The Furies which I found at the store and I'm done for this round.

(Unless $200 drops into my lap so I can get that Olympics set).
