re: Kino Lorber & KL Studio Classics sales, discounts, and deals

I'd intended to limit myself to 1 order with just enough to get free shipping, but ended up with 2 orders with just enough each to get free shipping. My will power is weak.

[Blu-ray] Runaway Train (Special Edition) $10.99
[Blu-ray] The Bank Dick $11.99
[Blu-ray] The Captain's Paradise | Barnacle Bill - Double Feature $9.49
[DVD] Misadventures of Biffle & Shooster $7.99
[Blu-ray] Take the Money and Run $9.99

[Blu-ray] Evil Under the Sun (Special Edition) $9.99
[Blu-ray] The Spiral Staircase $9.99
[Blu-ray] The Old Fashioned Way $11.99
[Blu-ray] They Might Be Giants (Special Edition) $9.49
[Blu-ray] New York Stories (Special Edition) $9.99

I'm upgrading some very old DVDs of mine in there like the non-anamorphic Anchor Bay Take The Money And Run from 1999 (that I bought from Checkout.com -- I don't even remember that place but that's what I recorded in DVD Profiler). There's also the non-anamorphic Runaway Train from 1998 that I bought at Montgomery Wards! I'm also upgrading old DVDs of the Fields titles, They Might Be Giants, and The Captain's Paradise (and getting Barnacle Bill, which I don't think I've ever seen, as a bonus).

Order #1

[Blu-ray] Runaway Train (Special Edition)
[Blu-ray] Losin' It
[Blu-ray] Tuff Turf
[Blu-ray] The Gun in Betty Lou’s Handbag
[Blu-ray] Gross Anatomy (Special Edition)
[Blu-ray] An Eye for an Eye

Mixed in a couple WSL titles with this order. I already loaded another 9 titles in my cart for another order that I'm hoping to pair down to 5 or 6(though that's highly unlikely).

Yes, greatly appreciated! It's often in these sales that I'm looking a title to get an order to the free shipping minimum without going over too much. Being able to easily look over the titles at various price points makes that much easier!

Just got around to seeing the original Night Stalker and liked it a lot. Grabbed Night Strangler and the full series. Great timing!

Shit. Wish I'd come to this thread earlier. I just bought Losin' It from Amazon, 18 bucks. Bought it to bump up an order to free shipping, mostly.

Still, I always watch that movie during the holiday season for some unknown reason (there's nothing Christmas-y or New Year about it), good to finally upgrade from the full frame DVD I've had for so long.

Wish the prices would drop to pre 2020. And they say media is dying...............

Just got my shipping notice after placing my order last week. I figured Bird On A Wire and Breakheart Pass would have held it up longer.

re: Kino Lorber & KL Studio Classics sales, discounts, and deals

Placed order #1, hopefully my one and only. I tried the other day, but it rejected my CC for some reason, then when I re-submitted it kicked back as "duplicate order". Nothing ever got charged to my CC, and I never got a confirmation, so I tried again today with Paypal and it went through. And it's actually good, because one of the titles I wanted, Get Crazy, was on backorder Tuesday but back in stock today. Total order:

Get Crazy
Cub
The Night Strangler
House of Mortal Sin
The Demoniacs

still might make a second order and include Female Vampire and some others. I don't like Jess Franco's movies, but Lina Romay was about as pretty as a human being is allowed to get and I can watch her forever. Doesn't hurt that she was never shy about disrobing on film.

Dead of Night is a banger. Bought that at the Halloween sale, just waiting for the right rainy night to pop it in.

Couldn't resist a second order.

Female Vampire
Kidnapped
Shoot First Die Later
The Allnighter
The Eiger Sanction

Was waffling back and forth between The Eiger Sanction and Youngblood for the last spot. But I already have Youngblood on DVD and rarely watch it, I don't even own The Eiger Sanction. Plus, Youngblood would have made the total $49.95, a nickel short of free shipping. Eiger put it over the top by 95 cents.

I'm not sure where I am on Pete Walker. I saw House of Whipcord (because I found an original poster of it at a convention for just 10 bucks, but wanted to watch it before framing and hanging the poster in my home) and absolutely loved it. Next two films I saw, The Flesh and Blood Show and The Comeback were absolute slogs. I got Schizo at the KL Halloween sale, and House of Mortal Sin at this one, hope I can get back on the Pete Walker train with those.

I hope he's not like the musical artist where you hear a song and love it, so you buy the album only to find the song you heard was the ONLY good one on the record.

I really liked The Comeback, so I may not be the best person to listen to about Walker...but I found Frightmare to be quite enjoyable as well. I bought House of Mortal Sin during this sale like you did, but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Trying to remember if I've seen Frightmare. I wanna say yes and that I somewhat enjoyed it, but I also know there's at least two movies with that title.
