What's the best way to select your favorites from the sale. Currently, I'm just adding the ones I want via wishlist and it seems to work. Trying to keep this order around $100.

A lot of the "collection" sets are pretty good deals. A few worthwhile sets I've noticed (but already own):

JOSEPHINE BAKER COLLECTION - $30
PETE WALKER COLLECTIONS 1/2 - $40/$45
FERNANDO DI LEO CRIME COLLECTIONS 1/2 - $20 each
SHORT FILMS OF THE QUAY BROTHERS - $17.50
EISENSTEIN COLLECTION (POTEMKIN/STRIKE) - $25
FRITZ LANG SILENT FILMS (12 movies) - $75
CLASSIC EDUCATIONAL SHORTS BUNDLE (6 discs) - $60

These sets are essential for folks interested in the earliest days of cinema:
THE MOVIES BEGIN (5 discs, DVD only) - $50 -- great set!
EDISON: THE INVENTION OF THE MOVIES (4 discs, DVD only) - $50
GAUMONT TREASURES (1897-1913) (3 discs, DVD only) - $40
PIONEERS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CINEMA (5 discs) - $50

I had this in my cart as well last night but looked around on the web; there's a review on Amazon that mentions that some of the music was removed/altered (rights issues?)[...]
Thanks for the tip. I went looking for reviews of the MGM DVD to see if the soundtrack issues are all Kino or if they simply used what MGM gave them; i.e. the DVD is also butchered because MGM never cleared the songs...but there don't appear to be any in-depth reviews. Does anybody own it? For reference, there's a complete (?) list of included songs here.

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

After much agonizing and re-arranging of my shopping cart and my wish list, I finally and proudly decided to limit myself to just one Blu-ray:

Legend of the Mountain $11.98

Spoiler:
and 20 DVDs.

The Optimists $5.98
F.I.S.T. $4.80
Love at Large $4.20
My Favorite Brunette $5.23
From Noon Till Three $5.99
Navajo Joe $5.40
Ten Seconds to Hell $5.40
Baffled $8.98
The Concrete Jungle (Special Edition) $9.98
The Soldier $6.98
Brannigan $8.98
The Last Hunter $7.98
Moonshine County Express $9.98
Angels Brigade $9.98
Killer Fish $11.23
How to be a Man $9.98
How to be a Woman $9.98
Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary $7.98
Revenge of the Dead $7.98
Revenge of the Cheerleaders $9.98

In all likelihood a lot of these will be resold after watching, so I'll make a bit of profit in the long run.

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

Curious if anyone has received their order yet.

Tracking for mine indicates it has arrived at the nearest FedEx facility in the next town over. There are two within 6 miles of my town.

I placed my order about 10pm June 20. Tracking says it's scheduled to arrive by June 27.

Which won't be a bad delivery time IMO, but...

It took less than 24 hours to get from New York City to a small town in northwest Ohio, but it's going to take almost a week for FedEx to get it from that small town to the one next door?

I don't mind waiting a few days for an order of two items to ship, but do I have to wait until the damn sale is over to see these items finally pushed out the door and on the way? Let's get a move on!

Mine is now processing. I will likely not participate in a future sale unless an item blows me away with a heavily discounted price.

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

Just checked the status of my order. It is now scheduled to arrive Monday, June 25... but it is now at FedEx facility in Belleville, MI.

Last night it was less than 6 miles from where I'm at. Really, I was half expecting to get it today... Saturday at the latest.

I do appreciate that it is now scheduled to arrive 2 days earlier than originally stated... but why the hell was it sent out of state? And to a place between Ann Arbor and Detroit that is ten times further away?

That is a USPS class screw up.

Imagine how much money they waste by shipping likely thousands of packages unnecessary miles.

Yep, it is a fact: Kino has the slowest delivery of any legit indie on the net.

As may be, but my order arrived today.

Yep, that's right... today.

For all my bitching about how convoluted tracking indicated the delivery was going to be, it arrived just 3 days after placing the order.

Excepting a couple of Prime trials, that's beaten all of my Amazon deliveries... and everything else.

Wow. That is a first. My last order (May) took 3 weeks.

My order from the previous KL sale took a while to arrive. Not three weeks but still longer than expected.

Maybe it because I was several states further away than I was for this sale. None of my orders (unlike those of some spendthrift lunatics here ) have been more than 4 or 5 titles, so its not likely the size of the order that influenced anything.

Maybe it's because my tastes are eclectic and I don't order stuff that's in high demand.

This order:
Adventures of Captain Marvel
The Honey Pot
Jack the Giant Killer
Shalako
Woman in the Moon

My order was 6 titles; but they may have been somewhat popular ones.

If you got Fritz Lang's Woman In The Moon German silent, I highly recommend that one.

I'm glad to read that they are slow with shipping. I placed my order Jun 17, and I didn't get a confirmation email (except through PayPal). This means I don't have an order number. But I'll remain patient.

For anybody who's interested (or searching for this later), I found the Falcon and Snowman DVD at a Dollar General for $3.95 and watched it last night. All the music listed in my link above is there. (Technically, I didn't find the J. Geils Band's "Lookin' for a Love", but with everything else present I must have just missed it.) I don't know what happened with Kino's Blu-Ray. Maybe they were sent the wrong audio track and didn't notice? If anybody owns it and really wants to know what's missing, PM me and I'll explain where the songs should go.

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

It's very possible that Kino didn't vet their HD transfer very well and sourced a transfer made for broadcast or something. Their quality control has slipped since they started releasing more Blu-rays in volume.
