Walmart Black Friday 2017
Ad is Up ... https://www.walmart.com/
Ad is a bit of a crapfest. Piles of movies but tough to make out more than a handful of titles.
Ah, I see. Don't waste your time online. Download the PDF ... it is larger and has much better image.

I'll pass on Walmart this year. Ad didn't look that great and I don't really want to stand an hour + in line for some $2 or $3 movies I'll never watch right away.
Also, the cheap movies and games section always gets messy after it's rummaged through. Not worth it.

Walmart puts less and less effort each year into Black Friday except for the purpose of dumping excess stock. They are simply going through the motions and hoping their customers don't catch on.
I think it's only a matter of time before a retail chain treats Black Friday like it's nothing.

As far as line standing, Walmart's BF prices are typically live earlier in the week. You can get your movies early, with only regular shopping lines to navigate.

Apparently, all the Black Friday prices (for movies, not sure about other items) are live in-store now, so if you can find it on the shelves or sneak it from the shippers, it will checkout at the sale price.
Edit: Spot checked a few items from the BF ad on Brickseek, and it looks like all BF prices are live in the stores now.

Re: Walmart Black Friday 2017
One of my favorite annual Thanksgiving traditions. Went into the store at noon. Aside from the employees moving things around, very few customers are around compared to normal. Picked up all the big name items from the electronics section (Spiderman, Beauty and the Beast, etc) and paid the BF price at the register. The displays had just been put out in the grocery section of my store so I could see everything they had. I don't think I could have purchased them yet with the promo stickers on them. I could have "hid" things in other locations if I really wanted to. Within a few minutes, employees were shrink-wrapping the displays.
Thought I would be able to get the Pirates of the Caribbean movie that I have a marginal desire to see so that was a disappointment. Not on sale.

Re: Walmart Black Friday 2017
I hit my local WM around 4:30pm and picked up:
Spider-Man Homecoming BD WM Exclusive with Masher Toys $7
Cars 3 BD WM exclusive with bonus shorts $7
The Fate of the Furious BD $7
Got a peek at the BF displays, there was a lot that I could not see but it did not look too exciting. Looks like a lot of the Disney titles were DVD only. No $396. BD's again this year. I'll be hitting a few store later after 8pm or so.

Hit Walmart this morning. They movie kiosks were towards the front of the store this year. I wasn't looking for much but nabbed Sicario, Arrival and Mad Max Fury Road. It was a bit disorganized and one worker looked like he was trying to get it better set up. The DVDs and blu-rays needed to be separated. I'll check it out again in a little bit. Maybe pick up one or two more depending on what I find.

Went to one of the local Wal-Mart stores last night and it was a bit of a madhouse at the Blu-Ray/DVD & Video Game Shippers.
This particular store had about a dozen employees all around the area, letting people into that area a small handful at a time.
I ended up picking up XXX: The Return of Xander Cage (BD), American Horror Story: Roanoke (DVD) and Planes, Trains and Automobiles (DVD).

Ventured out to local Walmart Black Friday afternoon...no crowd. Picked up Cars 3 and Beauty and the Beast from the normal racks, insured they were priced correctly (sale price) and left in about a total of ten minutes. Didn't go near the shippers at all.

Re: Walmart Black Friday 2017
^Similar experience. Went in around 1:00 and saw very little door buster stuff around the store. The employees were carting off the remnants. I assume they were condensing it to one area. Usually I wander in around that time and pick up several gifts (none of the “prime” stuff). Didn’t pick up anything today.
The movie displays were still in place but I assume they had already been condensed and the empty ones broken down as there were only three displays left. Spider-Man and Cars could be found on the racks, but the displayers were pretty well down to junk. Maybe I’m getting too picky, but the $10 stuff should have been $5-$7.
On the flip side, went to Menards around noon and picked up everything I went for and more.

Re: Walmart Black Friday 2017
I stopped by this morning and they had put all the Black Friday movies into dump bins. I was looking for the Planet Earth/Frozen Planet combo pack, but I couldn't find it. After digging around with the sick (so many people coughing I hope I don't get sick) and unwashed masses of Lebanon, Tennessee I picked up:
The Goonies/Gremlins/Gremlins 2 Triple Feature for $5.96
Star Trek Beyond for $5.96
13 Hours for $5.96
Get Out for $5.96 (I was dumb and didn't get it earlier in the week for $5. I thought I might as well get it after digging around for 20 mins looking for Planet Earth/Frozen Planet)
There was a lot of stock left. It was frustrating having to dig through all the bins though....
