re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I ordered The Spiral Staircase and Trilogy of Terror. I might've gotten the Mamie Van Doren collection, but it showed up as $19.99 in my "what's new?" search. I didn't see it as $7.99 until I searched specifically for that title and after I'd already ordered. Oh well!

Comin' At Ya! - 2.95
The Iron Lady - 5.95
Mamie Van Doren Noir Collection - 7.95
Long Way North - 4.95

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

They do have a sort by Studio/Label under the Power Search.

Allows you to choose Bluray/CD/DVD under Binding/Media and Kino/Arrow/Criterion/Warner/Olive/Code Red, etc. via Publisher

Thanks! I looked there, & only saw the binding option. I'll look again.

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I placed my order Sunday morning when Spiral Staircase came back in stock. There's always hope it'll pop up later today. I recall ordering the limited Night Breed on the Monday or Tuesday after the new stock upload on Saturday

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

My order shipped except for " The Spiral Staircase " which they said is temporarily out of stock " 1 Spiral Staircase, Blu-ray *BLU 6.95 We will ship it as soon as possible, but in no case later than 60 days. You will be sent another email when we complete your order. " I am guessing from message that if they don't get stock within 60 days they will cancel order. Hopefully it won't be cancelled. Currently they have removed "The Spiral Staircase" from their website. Using link to the film in the order receipt I received on Saturday I get an "Oops" error message. "We Couldn't Find That Page"

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Got an email earlier today that my full order shipped. Hamilton is only a couple states away so it should be here by the weekend.

(I also set a calendar reminder for myself to browse their site every other week!)

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Didn’t see this one mentioned in the recent posts, but Kino’s loaded special edition of PUPPET MASTERS is only $6.95. I’m not the biggest fan, but the bonus features are a good motivator at this price.

I have still yet to hear anything about my order on Saturday morning (around 11 AM ET) for The Spiral Staircase or Trilogy of Terror. No shipping. No cancellation. No indication of anything on the order status page. Just...yeah, nothing.

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

You may want to contact them. I placed an order around 2pm on the 13th, got a shipping notice on the 15th and it's on track to be delivered tomorrow. that said, my order didn't contain either of those titles but another that went in/out of stock several times over the weekend (The Battle Between the Sexes BR). Everything in my order shipped and that title went completely off the site shortly after I placed my order.

They normally let you know pretty quickly if something is on back order.

I just shot them an email. I'm pretty sure I'll be told it's cancelled, and that's okay.

This drives me a bit nuts. It's so random, and it often happens on titles that there's NO WAY are actually selling out. I've started to suspect that Hamilton deliberately drops them for short periods so you'll put in the rest of your order for fear of something else "selling out" (bolstered by the "don't forget to check out" emails), whether or not you've fully decided you want what's in the cart. I like to fill mine with a lot of stuff, as one might at Amazon, then leave it for a while and come back with fresh eyes, decide to delete items, add items, etc. Yet almost every time, a few hours pass, or a day, or whatever, and one random item -- sometimes two -- suddenly gets deleted from my cart, their listings deleted as well. The more stuff you have in the cart, the harder it is to figure out what's gone missing, too. But then they magically reappear, often staying available for what seem like days or weeks longer. I'm talking real crap stuff here, too, sometimes. I just placed an order for a small ton of discs, but had to leave one off because it disappeared from the site, then came back after I'd ordered.

Whether I'm right or wrong -- and I'm happy to be proven wrong -- it would be easier if they LEFT everything in your cart but posted a little note beside the items that have gone out of stock (literally or allegedly), or section them off somehow at the bottom of the list, so you can at least remember the titles or move them to your wish list yourself. It would save a lot of mental gymnastics trying to figure out what they've dropped.

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Their customer service is great. Their rep posts here but is more active on another forum. If you place a second order for the item that came back in stock you can email them and ask to try and combine shipments and refund the second shipping charge.

When I leave things in my cart I get emails saying stock is running low and to order soon.

Stock fluctuates because the deals get posted to SlickDeals and people make
large orders to flip things. They will cancel those and release the stock.

re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

They combined my Sat and Sun orders into a single shipment and refunded the extra $4. My Spiral Staircase from Sunday is the only item I lost to OOS.

I did learn that if you pay by PAYPAL funds it's not possible for their system to rearrange payments/combine shipment. If you pay by CC or PP with CC they can. Odd, but
my 1st order was 100% PP funds and second order was entirely PP via Credit Card so they were able to help. I'll remember that next time and make sure to make a ShopSafe CC number
for them which I was just too lazy to do over the weekend plus I wanted to use the funds I had in PP already

I ordered on 1/14. Got a confirmation on 1/16. The USPS is still "waiting for the package" on 1/18. I'm starting to get concerned.
