I placed an order 8 days ago and it's still in pre-shipment.

They reportedly have a backlog, especially in the book warehouse.

The key to HB is to order on the day of the new releases but it looks to me like you ordered before that. I got all of my purchases shipped next day. With HB, it's not uncommon for you to actually get the items before the website updates. My last few orders have been like that - just waiting at the door for me.

I did not know any of this. I ordered all movies. I've had good luck with them in the past. I'm only a state over (CT to MA), and all my other orders shipped quickly. It seems like a label was printed the next day, and now they've just shipped. The delivery is due Monday (11 days after ordering).

They likely actually shipped when they made the label. HB uses bulk media mail, so after they package and label your order, they throw it on a pallet destined for the distribution center closest to your address, and ship the pallet out. The pallet gets shipped to the distribution center, and your specific package doesn't get scanned until the distribution center breaks down the pallet to sort the individual packages.

For $4, I'll give Blood Fest a good recommendation. It subverts the haunted halloween amusement attraction genre.

Wow, King of Comedy for $4.95, you fuckers better snag that BD. That's a phenomenal deal.

Glad to hear the recommendations for Blood Fest, I picked it up even though the reviews seemed mixed. Also got Hollywood Boulevard which has been on my wishlist for a while, and a couple other things that have been on the site to ease the shipping cost.

Didn’t see this in the list above, and could’ve sworn it was a new addition at Hamilton — maybe not — but SLEEP TIGHT is a nasty little Spanish thriller from the director of •REC, and worth the $4.95 if one’s looking for cart-fillers. Also recommended for off-the-beaten-path, all pretty cheap: GOOK, CATFIGHT, CROWS ZERO and APRIL AND THE EXTRAORDINARY WORLD.

Thanks for the Sleep Tight recommendation. It's free via Hoopla.

That's where I saw it, too! :). Decided it was worth owning at this price.

Little Caeser is of interest, but they say it is widescreen???? Also, the combo of shipping & tax is $5, which kind of kills any bargain. They're taxing shipping & at the city + state rate. If they had a few more that I wanted...........

It's a rip off if you are only ordering ONE or two titles. I ordered five titles. There are several titles here that are OOP are pretty good deals.

I think I might be used a different definition of Ripoff.
If it costs $3 to ship an item not including any employee time/labor then $4 isn't a ripoff.

It may make a $4-10 item a less good deal (even that depends of what you buy), but they're not going to sell it to you free..

Nobody I know of is going to ship that item for free. Not Amazon or BBY or B&N UNLESS you pay them one way or another to do it or order enough to make it worthwhile (25/35/50/75/100+). Even then, $120 yearly for Prime doesn't guarantee that they won't exclude.

I bought 9 blu-rays and the shipping was $4. Seemed quite reasonable to me. --Peter

Maybe rip off is the wrong word; I should have used cost effective. They have nothing else I want at this time. And I'd still like to know how Little Caeser could be widescreen without pretty serious cropping. I hope that's a typo.

I will likely never get over resentment about internet sales tax. From a consumer pov, paying shipping + tax is a rip off. More by the US gvt then by the retailer. And now they've taken affordable incoming international shipping away from us. It used to be in the B&M days if I planned a trip correctly, gas was less than shipping & i got it instantly.

And there were value priced overstock b&M's. I owned one for close to a decade.

Wow, plenty of Magnet, Scream Factory, and Troma. I just bought several of these titles at higher prices! Still managed to spend $160 on 19 titles. I want to recommend Gravy ($4.95), for anyone who enjoys dark comedies, Scream Factory, and gore. This movie is hilarious. I loved the dialogue (by the makers of Psych, which I've never seen).

Everyone charges tax now, so it's a non-issue when talking about a specific retailer.

The shipping is $4 flat rate, so obviously the more you buy, the better a deal it becomes.

It's not quite 100%. I wasn't charged tax when I ordered the UHD release of Zombie from Bull Moose last week.

Honestly -- I have no probably paying tax on the items. I do get annoyed paying sales tax on S/H charges.

There are a handful of US sites that still can escape the automatic Sales Tax charge and then there's a weird site like Zavvi who charges US sales tax despite their whole Media business in run out of UK -- though their parent company does have other branch businesses in the US as well as US Cust Service centers

Not surprised that Ace Ventura double feature already sold out. That has been out of print for a while.
