Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Apparently they didn't keep the sale all that secret; I'm getting nothing but gateway timeouts.

Same here.

EDIT : I have been able to get a link here & there to work. Not finding loads I would buy anyway, so I'll check again when I get up, If I miss out, I miss out.

Frustrating. I can occasionally get a page to load, but most of these films are not familiar to me.............

Are there any inexpensive Kino's that anyone already owns & recommends?

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I can occasionally view a page, but can not view my cart, though I supposedly have 4 items in it. Hamilton needs either a new web host or a new I.T. Dept.

Wonder where else this was advertised, I don't think there's enough of us to cause this here.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

It let me get to my cart, so I just ordered the 4 in there. I don't see any titles that I'm familiar with, don't already own & have been looking for a price break on, so I got these: Still hoping members will point out killer Kino deals. (I already have Hell's House. It's certainly worth $6.00)

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I can open pages now. The only thing Ican find I would have added is "The Southerner", & I'm not paying another $4 shipping for 1 disc, so I guess I'll live. Nothing on Adam's list that I checked came up as sold out.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

It was Adam's crawler that ruined the site. It escaped from his grasp and ran rampant.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Forgot to check it on time and a couple hours later it worked fine. The only thing I could see as Ďout of stockí is SAVAGE SISTERS.

A lot (maybe all?) of the Scorpions are the same batch that Ronin cleared out at $5 a few months ago, but even $5.95 is decent for stuff like DEATH WISH 3, DELTA FORCE, POW THE ESCAPE, SMALL TOWN IN TEXAS, BUCKTOWN, etc for those who missed them earlier. As expected some other Scorpions are currently Kino titles anyway, but the price is comparable to their sales.

Also cool to see REVENGE OF THE SHOGUN WOMEN 3D in there for $5.95. Thatís a lot of fun if youíre equipped for it.

I picked up a number of those Kinos in their sales last year for higher, so Iíll probably indulge in some doubles for resale up here.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I believe that Revenge of the Shogun sisters was sold out when I made my order.

And yeah most of the Scorpion titles were on sale before at Ronin. I only picked up Bucktown.

The Kino at $5.95 were the real gems there. Some of them were out of stock (like the Landlord) and I previously purchased at Kino for like $9.95. There were some Cohen Media there at 5.95 which is a steal if you like the films. I personally enjoyed Only the Animals and can sort of recommend that one.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I just assumed the site issue was being caused by bots attempting to scoop up the more rare titles for reselling. I made it mostly through check out a couple of times but kept (attempting) to look at other titles I possibly wanted and finally just gave up. This morning it's working OK and only a single title I had in my cart sold out - and I didn't purchase it during a KINO sale because it's just not that highly desired (I own a DVD copy that's good enough for me).

I looked through the still available titles this morning and nothing really jumped out for me as I'd already purchased anything of interest during KINO sales.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I saw Argento's cat of nine tails in 4k from Arrow for $12, which is an insane price, if you ask me. I got it for $22 and thought that was a good deal!

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Well, I don't know if I'll take another run through for this sale (although cinemaman makes a good case for the Argento 4K) but I definitely got my last order in in a timely fashion. Ordered on Jan 31st and got it this morning. A one-week turnaround is crazy!

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

Hoping my order gets shipped out with all my items (a couple of things I ordered went OOS, who knew that French film Natalie could be so popular). But Hamilton is great if you know what you want and keep track of pricing of your items.

Re: Hamilton Book (Blu-ray Bargains)

I'll suggest folks here check out The Swiss Conspiracy. Neat little '70s dramatic thriller with John Saxon and Senta Berger among others. I'm supposed to review it soon but Film Masters did a fine job on the disc.

I'm counting on the world coming to an end soon. It's the only way I can justify spending $55 on two Conan movies.

I broke down and got the Conan double despite only liking the first movie. The sequel is pretty bad and only nostalgia for a younger Arnold compelled me into it. The final time I'll buy the Conan movies after all these years. That's what I tell myself anyway these days when I see these crazy 4K prices.

Yeah, that second movie sucks. But it also has such an odd cast it's worth it for that. I'll probably bite. I've got the email alert set up if they get low on stock.

I currently only have the first movie in the DVD special edition from 2007 so I'm due for an upgrade.
