Agreed, but then for this sale that's why I only bought Flight of Dragons, Starsky & Hutch, Year of the Dragon & Showdown in Little Tokyo on BD. Honestly, I'm spending more on other sales this week than anything on Amazon (where I've only bought Mortal Engines 4k because I wanted to use my $10 Whole Foods credit).

I placed a WB Shop order for blu-rays that had been sitting on my Amazon wishlist forever. The order went thru yesterday afternoon, and I still haven't received a confirmation email. Anyone else have this issue? Usually, email confirmations are automatic.

By memory -- WBShop emails have always been 'sometimes' esp during sales.
If your payment card has a temp/pending charge and the Order history is there, I think you're OK.
Trying to contact WB or Araca to ask questions doesn't seem like has been a very useful pursuit in the past

Has Warner Archives gone to burning their Blu-rays? All of the ones that I've bought from them in the past were pressed. I thought that they only burned the DVDs.

No - 100% pressed. I think you misread MooMoo's post

I'm considering an order. They're charging sales tax, & as we have the highest sales tax rate in the USA, it's 4 for $48.50 for me (& they're actually undercharging on the tax....... it should be 4 for $48.88)

I'm still not used to an 11% surcharge on internet purchases........

The highest sales tax in the US is 11.5% (Puerto Rico).

I wasn't aware of PR. That's even worse due to the poverty level. We're around 11.1 depending on the city.

Addict that I am, I ended up biting:

blu: Performance
Frankenstein 1970
dvd 13th Chair
Coquette

Sad thing is all 4 are upgrades of films I already have! And I only have around 3,000 I haven't watched.......

Got my order today. The following comment probably belongs on the dvd board, but this is the only Wac thread I can find.

For the first time ever, I received a MOD that after a quality scan I didn't feel the need to rip & re-burn. It wasn't as good as a TY scan, but Coquette was on a Verb & it scanned 95/838.

On the other hand, 13th chair was a dual layer on a POS CMC disc. It scanned 70/14,000+. I split it into 2 dvd5's with software & re-burned onto 2 TY's. Fortunately, the 2 films are about the same length, so each disc has 1 film.

I am not aware on any blank dual layer media today that isn't absolute garbage. Both Verb & Falcon used to be decent.

That's good to know since I think my DVD-R days are behind me. Anything I'd want to permanently preserve would get ripped to a hard drive and stored digitally.

I always back up important burned discs & music/movie files.

How about backing up to BD-R instead of DVD-R? Are BD-Rs any better than "absolute garbage" these days. You seem like the most knowledgeable person around on this subject. Optical Quantum used to be good. I'm not sure about Optodisc. What have been your recent results in finding / testing of quality BD-Rs?

I'm also not at all familiar with burned blu's, other than I've heard they're not real reliable. None of my pc's have a blu burner.

re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

After the 4th item is added then each subsequent is $11 so no need to do multiples of 4

It appears items released through the end of July and still excludes the multidisc sets like Seven Brothers, etc.

It appears the multidisc sets and even most of the TV sets are 40% off so still a pretty decent deal compared to prior sales. The Tv sets especially rarely go on sale anywhere

$2.50 shipping on 4 items. If the prediscount price is $100 then it appears to be Free Shipping

I was hoping Mr. Nice Guy would be included. Oh well. Will wait for the next sale.

re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

I'm relieved now that I went ahead and picked up a few odd WA titles in the Target sale a few weeks back. There's no way I'd be able to scrape up enough to hit the $100 minimum(!) for free shipping from the ones that are eligible, even with those earlier purchases in the mix.

Happy for anyone else that was waiting for this one, though.

Thanks for posting. I didn't get this email. Shipping + tax kind of kills it for me, though.

$100 pre-discount for FS -- so 5 of the normal 21.99 BDs gets free shipping though 2.50 is a lot better than their normal shipping amt. My problem is there;s only one title I need so I'll just wait
hopefully for the B&N 40% off sale to get the more recent titles and a better discount hopefully on the TV sets

I rounded up some titles to order, but the site won't calculate the shipping. Is anyone else having this problem?

Usually calculates after you enter shipping address and it asks shipping method click continues. I haven't had this trouble , but in the past i have had issues with WbShop and Blocker extensions like uorigin.

It's back!

(This link is all Warner Archive BDs, so you'll need to scroll down past the new releases to get to the other stuff.)

re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

Even better the 5 off 50 code still seems to work
WBAFF5
That'll cover the shipping plus tax for many on 5 or 6 item orders and a lot of the tax of bigger orders that get FS already
