I saw that as soon as I placed my order. I was definitely buying the first two, so guess it’s not a big deal...probably would have gone with Old instead. It’s just hard to maximize efficiency right now.

6 movies last month's sale.
But nothing so far this sale. Just to many in the still must watch pile and plan to spend my money at BBY pre-Black Friday sale coming up.

Looks like a few preorders got added this week that aren’t excluded from the sale. Picked up Almost Famous, Wolf of Wall Street, and Many Saints of Newark.

Looks like Target removed almost all the Criterions from their site, and of course, Amazon is following.
On Amazon found about a dozen, most of them DVDs.

Glad they’re finally including music again. I’ve had a ton of vinyl on the wish list waiting for one of these.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Bought 3 movies last sale

April and the Extraordinary World (Blu-ray)(2016) $14
Soldier Blue (Blu-ray)(2020 )$14
Les Cowboys (Blu-ray)(2016) $14

Total $26.58

Might pick up the Mad Max Anthology 4K @ $80, If I can find two other items for about the same price.
But with Target only carrying a few Criterions , it will not be easy.
Also, I wonder if there is some friction between CC and Target because of the great prices you could get on many CC films?.
As it looks like they are the only studio as far as I can tell that Target got rid of most of their product.
For me, I have not bought a CC from anywhere else besides Target and Amazon, when they price match in a year +.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

I was pleasantly surprised to see the pre-orders I checked were part of the sale. I made sure to place that order ASAP since I'm not sure if they will be part of the sale all week (they have removed things from the sale as the week went on before). Of course, I also ordered in-stock movies ASAP since you don't know when things will go out of stock.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

They have A Promising Young Woman and In the Heights on sale for $7 on Blu-ray. I bought them and F9 on Blu-ray (on sale for $9) to do the Buy 2 get 1 free deal.

Below was posted on Blu-ray.com by Matt C.

This week's Black Friday Blu-ray (not 4K) sales are right here (sorted by price), which includes the following New Releases from the past year, with effective prices if you can manage groups of 3:

$6:
Vanquish
Croods 2

$7 (effectively $4.67):
Wonder Woman '84
In the Heights
Promising Young Woman
News of the World

$8:
Ford vs. Ferrari (older, I know)

$9 (effectively $6.00):
F9
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
Chaos Walking
Spiral
Courier
Little Things
Boss Baby 2

$10 (effectively $6.67):
Godzilla vs. Kong
Mortal Kombat
Snake Eyes
Monster Hunter
Quiet Place 2
Tom & Jerry
Tenet
Peter Rabbit 2
Love & Monsters ($5.99 @ BB)
The Marksman ($5.99 @ BB)

$12 (effectively $8.00):
The Protege
Don't Breathe 2
Escape Room 2
Paw Patrol

A bunch of Xmas, Disney and other older stuff mixed in there too, of course. 140 titles in all...

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

I'm not saying you can add three copies of the same b2g1 title to your cart, place the order, then cancel 2 copies immediately while retaining a ~33% discount...
But if I was saying that, then you all may be able to get something like the Shawscope Vol1 set for under $110 all-in instead of $130+tax. It may end up cheaper, but some have said that the sales tax for all three items remains on the order page, even after you cancel two items.

Sales tax gets adjusted once the order is final charged and shipped.

^ I figured as much. So the Shawscope set can be had for under $100, if they were to be so inclined.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

This is a new one for me, I don't know or my options. I ordered 3 books for the kids for a curbside pickup last night. This morning ING my email says one is out of stock, unavailable at other stores, and unavailable for shipping. My option is to cancel it. Um, but them I'm buying 2, not getting 1. What do I do?

You should still have a 33% discount on each of the 2 books that were in stock. They don't actually give you any titles for free, they just discount everything by 33%. If all the books were the same price, you should have basically the same deal, just getting 2 books instead of 3.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Thanks, you're right, but it didn't show up that way until the pickup order was ready and then it showed the adjusted price. Otherwise, it showed everything at full price! Okay, we're good, thanks.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Target sanely splits the discount up between all three products even if one item gets canceled or refunded. Amazon is not so gracious - losing any single item on a bundle discount reverts the other items back to full price in your order.

Re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

The one area where Target is somewhat odd is offers that give a gift card. They prorate the amount of the gift card among all qualifying items as a discount and then charge separately for the gift card. That means if you try to do a PM later it's against that prorated price and not the full price. Same with a return - you get the prorated amount on return, but keep the full amount of the "free" gift card. Every other store I've ever dealt with simply subtracts the value of the gift card for a refund if a return causes the offer to be invalidated.

Starts 2/6 Sunday and goes for a week. I might take a peak but no extra $ for media right now.

Their ads for the following week show up overnight on Fridays.

I still have my $500 gift card I bought for $450 over the holidays. Hoping preorders are allowed even though they're specifically excluded and I'll probably load up for the next few months.
