For at least the titles I monitor (admittedly all Mill Creek Ultraman stuff), they roll out price changes on the first of the month, with a handful having smaller price changes throughout the month. It seems like it got especially bad when the calendar rolled over to 2023.

Yeah... I saw quite a few titles jump in price significantly at the start of 2023. Like with all other vendors you just have to know prices and watch for drops.

They've not lived up to their name in over 10 years - basically when they sold and dropped free shipping on *any* order.

I am mostly frustrated with their often incorrect availability status, receiving confirmation emails with partial fulfillments stating those in stock ones were on back order, then eventually cancel it weeks later and then take ages to refund. Had happened on all three of my most recent orders. Bad vibes when dealing with them

I don’t really expect to buy something at DD and expect it to be the best price of the year, but if they have a sale going (which they do with a good frequency) and I want to knock a few titles off my wishlist, I can usually find enough there that are cheaper than anywhere else at the time.

They are still probably the cheapest retailer for music items when you factor in discount codes. Helps they have virtually zero competition left in the space other than Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Sadly, they own all of their competition other than Amazon. (I don't consider B&N to be competition to Alliance).

If Amazon goes under (not likely), I would see an anti trust law suit in Alliance/Phantom/DD's future.

I used it (plus some Discover cash back) to grab Serpico, 12 Angry Men, Cool Hand Luke, and the Slumber Party Massacre double feature all in UHD at a pretty decent price. And yeah, one of these things is not like the other.
