Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

http://www1.screenarchives.com/bundle.cfm

From the site:
THE TWILIGHT TIME BUNDLE HAS RETURNED! BUY 7 OF THE FOLLOWING TWILIGHT TIME TITLES FOR $70.00! Buy seven of any of the following Twilight Time titles for $70.00 and get a real deal. This is a one-time “package price” of seven titles until they are gone. It’s okay to mix and match — just buy seven of one or one each of these titles. You must have a minimum of seven titles in your cart, but you can also create as many “packages” as you like, as long as you buy seven titles at a time. Final price will be adjusted at checkout.

Thing is there are 8 new titles included in addition to titles from the last round, which made the selection for one bundle pretty easy

Thanks, Laidback. Made up one bundle (two copies of two titles since many of the rest were purchased in last clearance sale for < $10.).

I can say the Disappearance and The Front are both excellent. I wish I could participate in the sale, but I can't rationalize 7 titles, even at $10 a piece.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Sweet! Thanks laidbacklarkin! Ordered:

THE ROOTS OF HEAVEN (1958)
THE DISAPPEARANCE (1977)
ZULU (1964)
THE EDDY DUCHIN STORY (1956)
CONRACK (1974)
RESURRECTED (1989)
GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER (1967)

Probably would have gone in for 1984 (which is on the banner), but seems to be gone.

you are welcome, creekdipper. Now, i will be bummed if they follow this up with another promotion which deeply discounts titles from this sale, even further..like it happened the last time around. But such is the nature of supply and demand :-)

strange. They're offering 1984 as a 'specially priced' title at ONLY $24.95 :-) (at least was so y'day)

I was thinking it has more to do with the sudden spike in popularity of the book ...

It appears that Guess Who's Coming To Dinner is down to around 50+ copies.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

It's the only 2015 release on the list, but I guess since Sony bought back the 3 year exclusivity.
It appears that SAE/TT just lumped it in with all the rest of the 3year+ items (exception being Man in the Dark 3D)

It appears as though the TT version might be preferable to Sony's edition as Sony's doesn't seem to have the commentary. Or is it being ported over with the other supplements?

Trying to figure out the 2 US releases adn teh new Indicator UK release

It appears the the TT may have the audio commentary exclusively since they produced it specifically for themselves. As usual the SAE isolated score

The Indicator has most of the same extras including the isolated score that the TT has, but no mention of the commentary.

The Sony seems to be missing the commentary and the isolated score.

I haven't seen people compare the Booklets and Digibook written material.

For $10 I think teh TT may be the best overall deal and most extras.

Sony for $12-14 (track record say this will be sub $10 pretty quickly and maybe part of the BBY Savestation $5-10 deals) and Powerhouse/indicator for $16-19. The Indicator brand is still too new to really get a feel for long term sale, but if MOC/Eureka releases are a pattern then certainly $10-12 eventually isn't unreasonable.

I didn't find 7 titles I'd like to own. That's good... saves me money.

Donald Sutherland starred in The Disappearance and Keifer Sutherland starred in The Vanishing -- and they're both Twilight Time titles. Spooky.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

In for:

1 FEVER PITCH
1 CONRACK
1 RESURRECTED
3 GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER
3 ZULU
3 EQUUS / IN FROM THE COLD
1 THE FRONT (1976)
1 THE EDDY DUCHIN STORY

Already bought GUESS, ZULU and EQUUS during the $20 sales; selling the duplicates up here more than offsets the difference paid then. The others are blind buys that may or may not stay in the collection.

Have they said that anywhere? I can't find a mention on their Facebook page nor in the rolling list on Bluray?

Teh cart for these Bundles is somewhat strange. I was able to put 700 copies in the a cart and go to the checkout page without being stopped though I had to do it 49 + 1 copies at a time -- just kept changing the +1 item to 50 copies, updating and the list kept adding 49 to the main item and +1 to the second line, rinse/repeat

Unfortunately I was able to do the same thing with a couple items listed as under 200 copies so the old cart trick doesn't seem to apply to the inventory

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Yeah, I suspect the cart trick will still work when they're actually below the 50 copy threshold (or something close). In the last sale, I noticed a couple actually did dip below 50 before they announced them on FB. As in, putting 50 in the cart netted you, say, 44, then 43, 42, etc. Thought that might be what was happening with GUESS, but obviously not. Tested it with ZULU with 56 copies (i.e. 8 'bundles') not long after I posted previously, and likewise it forced me to 49 (7 bundles) plus 1 separate, but changing that 1 to 50 gave me 98 copies on the main item.

Re: Screenarchives - select Twilight Time titles '7 for $70' bundle sale

Further to the above, I've had a bunch of these sale titles in the 'saved for later' (or whatever) section of my cart since the previous bundle sale, at 50 copies each, and I've just noticed that:

WAYWARD BUS is down to 38 copies
BITE THE BULLET is down to 23 copies

I don't see these mentioned on either TT's or SA's Facebook pages, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Also, not part of the sale, but:

10 to MIDNIGHT is down to 45 copies.

The OP of the Twilight Time thread on Bluray has the list before this sale started and is usually the most comprehensive. The Facebook posts tend to be scattered and I can rarely find them. They don;t seem to update in Real Time so during these big sale things tend to go pretty quickly through the numbers. It often takes a couple weeks for the inventory left to get updates during/after a sale.

SWAMP WATER - fewer than 200 copies remaining
THE WAYWARD BUS - fewer than 200 copies remaining
THE RAINS OF RANCHIPUR - fewer than 200 copies remaining
BITE THE BULLET - fewer than 300 copies remaining
MINDWARP - fewer than 300 copies remaining
THE DISAPPEARANCE - fewer than 400 copies remaining
MAN IN THE DARK 3D - fewer than 400 copies remaining
EQUUS - fewer than 400 copies remaining
THE MAN FROM LARAMIE - fewer than 400 copies remaining
BREAKING AWAY - fewer than 400 copies remaining
THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN - fewer than 500 copies remaining
RAPTURE - fewer than 500 copies remaining
THE BOUNTY - fewer than 500 copies remaining
MISSISSIPPI BURNING - fewer than 500 copies remaining (stock for this title is only available at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com)

10 to Midnight isn't one I thought would be low. I wonder if that's just SAE copies and TT still has a bunch as well (or if it's just incorrect)?
