Re: Arrow Films 50% Off Sale - Barnes & Noble

How is barnes and noble with exchanges? I got my first package in today and UPS beat the hell out of it. Thankfully the box on American horror is so thick that it didn't get destroyed but it's got two seriously pressed in corners and I'm a little OCD about that.

It's easy as pie if you want to return it for a refund, take it to the store I believe.

Virtually no store will have that item in-stock for an exchange.

Arrow Video $19.99 sale at Barnes and Noble ONLINE ONLY

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/1999...N-2lrzZ1z141rd

same titles offered are much lower in price at Familyvideo.com but the number of titles offered are much more at BN. Also this is an online only sale as BN does not carry Arrow titles in store.

Not sure as to the expiry date of this sale.

The Miike sets are a really good value at 60% off. The Black Society Trilogy is OOS now but if it comes back in stock, you can use the 20% code and knock off another $4 off the price.

Coupon details - thanks to hariseldon posting it in the regular B&N thread:

(supposedly works on non-member accounts as well)

Re: Arrow Video $19.99 sale at Barnes and Noble ONLINE ONLY

I made a mistake in the title of this thread - I found that there are some titles indeed, carried in stores and are part of this offer at $19.99 each. At the Huntington Beach (SoCal) store today, I found:
Dillinger
Day of Anger
Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll & Miss Osbourne

Better pricing with the in store 10% off (compensates for the sales tax)

'Dead or Alive Trilogy' with snail mail member 20% off coupon for $17.23 after SoCal sales tax

Also available in some stores - so you could use the additional member 10% off (I should have checked first before placing an online order)

Without a ship to home order, so few of the store actually carry more than a handful of these it would be hard to pickup. I think you may be close to a couple stores that seem to have a larger stock though. I know a couple NYC stores seem to have a wall of Arrows. It appears a bunch of the LA stores also

EDIT
Just called one of my stores with it instock and they said it was 39.99 in-store which is waht the Online Reserve-in-store says. Though that has always been inaccurate over the years almost always just listed MSRP on everything, I have noticed over the last 6 months or so that it's right more often than not these days so in one of the last updates maybe they fixed things.
I will be at the Huntington Beach (SoCal) store this evening. Will report back on pricing as availability shows 'in stock'

Saw DEAD OR ALIVE TRILOGY at a B&N store in Savannah today. I had a clerk scan it, and the price came up as $39.99.

Sale is over now. Good. I was going a bit crazy with it. Got 7 titles while it was going on.

Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

In addition to the Criterion Sale in the above thread, it appears there are some similar sales. I'm not sure I've seen a full Cohen Films sale, though the Arrow sale is becoming a regular sale. The Arrow sale has mostly been an online sale and many/most of the in-store items (and shiptohome orders) have not in the past been on sale though a few have been each time. We'll have to see how this works this time around.

Most of the price are not yet active as of 12:30am ET

I checked out the Arrow titles and not all of them are 50% off, -some are 40%.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Cohen sale. Don't see those on sale too often, so I might finally be able to get a few.

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

The Arrow sale doesn't appear to apply to newer releases . The Major and the Minor and Hold Back the Dawn are $35.88. List is $39.99. Some of the Cohen titles such as "King of Hearts" are only available through the Marketplace (3rd Party)

It seems to not apply to a lot of releases. No Crazies or Creepshow 2 either.

I think there are unresolved technical problems. The Major and the Minor (on my list as well!) is on the 50% list; the price just hasn’t been adjusted to match. Even titles that have been out for years, such as Day of Anger, aren’t 50% off.

Looks like all of the prices are finally correct for the Arrow titles. Unfortunately it doesn't include the American Werewolf in London LE even though that initially was on the list

Probably no one knows for sure, since the Cohen sale is new and mysterious, but do you think it'll run the length of the Criterion sale? The one thing I want is out of stock, and I'm wondering if it's possible they'll get more in time.

The ways the sales started, I'm guessing the sale will mirror the Criterion sale, but impossible to know. I'm not sure if you called if they'd be able to know for sure.
Unless you know it's been in stock at places in the last few months, I have noticed that many Cohen;s tend to stay OOS for extended periods to the point that they may be OOP permanently

Which title were you looking for? At least I can check some places and see it's it been available anywhere recently
